A memorandum of understanding has been signed between LaLiga and the Ligue Nationale de Football Professionnelle (LNFP) to work together to promote the development of football in the Alaoui region. The signing ceremony took place last Thursday at LaLiga's headquarters in Madrid, the capital of Spain, in the presence of Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, and Saïd Naciri, president of the LNFP in Morocco.

This memorandum will also define new lines of communication for the competitions with the objective of exchanging knowledge about leadership, corporate governance, sports management and other audiovisual, commercial and marketing aspects.

One of the central points of the agreement relates to the support that LaLiga will provide to its Moroccan counterpart to improve the audiovisual aspect of the competitions organized by the authority that manages the first and second division of Moroccan professional football, Botola 1 and Botola 2.

LaLiga will also provide advice to the LNFP on how to develop its skills at the local level, as well as on the creation of new content and digital strategies to strengthen the presence of Moroccan professional football on the world stage. In this regard, knowledge-sharing initiatives shall be carried out, including the holding of workshops and conferences to give Moroccan clubs an overview of the methods of LaLiga.

By signing this memorandum of understanding, the two institutions have also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring fair play and therefore agree to join forces to combat match fixing and any other activity that could discredit football and sport.
Furthermore, the Moroccan League will partner with LaLiga in the fight against racism, discrimination and exclusion in the sporting environment.

On behalf of the LNFP, Mohammed Kimakh, member of the LNFP Executive Committee, Essadik Alaoui, Secretary General of the LNFP, Wafae Bekkouch, chief correspondent of the Resources Department and Morad Moutaouakkil, Press Secretary of the LNFP also took part in the event.

During the ceremony, the president of the LNFP, Saïd Naciri, thanked the president of LaLiga for having welcomed them to Madrid and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming association. This new agreement opens up new horizons for collaboration between the two institutions. The president of the LNFP stated that this partnership between Moroccan football and Spanish football does not date from today and that this collaboration between the two leagues will further strengthen their historical relationship and the close ties that bind the two countries.

Ignacio Gomez, LaLiga's delegate for Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, also accompanied them during their visit to Madrid and stressed the importance of signing this agreement: "This agreement will allow us to strengthen our relations with the LNFP and work together to exchange experiences and contribute to the development and professionalisation of Moroccan football.
