Morocco has decided to take control of the media scene of the 2030 World Cup that will be held alongside Spain and Portugal. While the Portuguese country does not want the limelight and is content with its two venues, Spain is experiencing an alarming institutional paralysis that has made it easier for the North African country to show much more interest in everything surrounding the great football event in seven years' time.

Pedro Rocha is still at the head of the RFEF and everything suggests that he intends to run for president in the elections to be held in the first half of 2024. For the moment, he has already been paid the 600,000 euro salary of Luis Rubiales, which has annoyed some regional authorities who argue that Rocha is the president of a management committee and has a provisional mandate.

Morocco's firm stance

In the midst of all this, Morocco continues unstoppably in its bid to host the 2030 World Cup, which it has been waiting for so long after six refusals from FIFA to hold the tournament in 1994, 1998, 2006, 2010, 2018 and 2026. Now comes their big moment and that is accompanied by a group of players who have been proclaimed world quarter-finalists in Qatar in the absence of the Atlas cubs who are about to make their debut for Regragui's side.

Such is the dominance of the situation that even the World Cup logo has been leaked in the Le Desk media. It has the colours of the flags of the three host countries (red, green and yellow) on which a 30 is drawn.

The 0 is filled with a football and the slogan "Yalla Vamos 2030". "Yalla" in Arabic is "Vamos", a term that is spelled the same in Spanish and Portuguese. In addition, it also includes the names of the three nations in alphabetical order in English, the language of FIFA, but places Morocco first in that order. Once FIFA approves the model, everything will depend on the reports that the three countries will have to present in the last quarter of 2024, where the venues, groups, qualifiers and the grand final will be distributed.

The arrival of Macron

The unexpected player on the road to 2030 is Emmanuel Macron, President of France, who has decided to take sides with Morocco. Macron has already contacted the FIFA authorities to express his interest in holding the final on 14 July 2030 in Casablanca, and that it is in this majestic stadium that the final will be played.

This makes it more complicated for the new Santiago Bernabéu, which will be inaugurated in 2024, to host its second World Cup final after the one held in 1982. In fact, Macron has used this argument with Infantino to persuade the Moroccan capital, although it will be the final report for 2024 in which the three countries will decide on the venues for the entire knockout phase.

Morocco has taken an important step on the road to the 2030 World Cup. There are now months of diplomacy between Morocco and Spain to reach an equitable distribution of cities and stadiums to host the big event of world football.
