The 43-year-old Californian shows the Buccaneers the way to glory and wins his seventh NFL ring alongside his inseparable Gronkowski

Seven times Brady

The NFL final in 2021 will remain in everyone's memory. Those who like American football, those who are passionate about the sport, those who enjoy the spectacle, the music or simply those who need to see some of the old normality to get back on track. The pandemic is leaving a society unmotivated, listless, without great purpose. What happened at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Florida) on 7 February 2021 is the light at the end of the tunnel.
#WithAudience

The event was attended by 25,000 spectators out of the 75,000 that the multi-purpose stadium can hold. Almost 10,000 were health workers who cure covid patients. It was impressive to see the stands so full. The coronavirus has ravaged the United States but their culture was not about to allow an event like the Superbowl to be held in privacy. Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church were on hand to sing the anthem in memory of those who have fallen from the virus. At half-time, The Weekend took to the pitch to put on a spectacular show. Nothing to envy to the Superbowl of other years.  The contagion and vaccination rate will pay the bill for the most important spectacle in world sport.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs reached the grand final of one of the sports that never goes out of fashion in the USA. While the NBA is the star product for export, the MLB has remained for a more veteran audience or for the Latinos who are spread all over the country. Only 20 games between September and February. A short but very intense competition for the players who suffer important physical sequels.

#Ballers

Ballers is the perfect series for those who want to get an inside look at the world of the NFL. A stroke of genius from HBO starring Dwayne Johnson that tells the story of the day-to-day life in the offices of American football. One of these episodes could tell the story of Tom Brady's arrival in Tampa. After 20 years and six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, the quarterback from San Mateo (California) left Boston for Florida. The Buccaneers are owned by the Glazer family, the owners of Manchester United in English football. "We're going to spend wisely," Jason Licht said in 2014 when he was named the team's general manager. That was the least of it. What mattered was selecting good players in the draft and going for the Super Bowl final they hadn't won since 2002.

#TomBrady

Tom Brady's arrival was decisive. He signed for two seasons and 50 million dollars. The greatest player of all modern times had the responsibility of leading the Tampa team to glory. He had played in nine finals and won six. Stratospheric numbers that it remained to be seen whether they could be extrapolated to his new team. Because American football is also a team sport and stars don't shine alone.

New York's Rob Gronkowski was the perfect partner for Brady. Together they had won three Super Bowls with the Patriots. They had a great understanding on the field. An offensive lineman tasked with catching Brady's winning passes. Tampa made a draft rights move with the Patriots and paired Brady with Grankowski. As Licht said after the final, "If you want to know the path, ask those who've been there before". Brady had walked it six times.

#Mahomes

The second Super Bowl for the Buccaneers came in the 101st edition of the tournament. Brady was the MVP although team play and defence overshadowed disciple Patrick Mahomes. On every play he felt enormous pressure. He leaked passes, but they didn't hurt Tampa. Brady and Grankowski put on another show. This time it was a sporting one, because apart from everything that surrounds the NFL circus, they also play a sport where the best in the world are playing.

The end of the game made Brady MVP looking Michael Jordan in the face as the best of all time. Mahomes became a worthy successor who was paying tribute to the master. Grankowski was thrilled with the result of his return to the field after a year in retirement. Brady and Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen were joined by her family for a long kiss. And best of all: Brady says seven times is not enough.
