About nothing

Pedro Sánchez

I listen to the president in his last television sermon and I see that his world is another. From the limbo of La Moncloa he respects neither the living nor the dead. He says one thing and the opposite - let us say that I am talking about the quarantine for tourists - and he is delighted to have met. Two weeks ago, the borders were closed for business and on Sunday they magically opened wide for EU partners. What about the use of masks? Now, yes; before, they were not only unnecessary but counterproductive. What a great Peronist Argentina has lost! Neither good nor bad: incorrigible, as Jorge Luis Borges would say.

Settling of scores

Not a word about that unmovable list of 27,200 dead because the chaplain Salvador Illa and his altar boy Fernando Simon have forgotten to count the dead for more than a fortnight. That's all right. The autonomous communities are to blame. For the tragedy of the Residences? Less than nothing. The Army (he did not say Spanish, of course), the Army has carried out 5,500 actions. Not a word about the distressing calls from the people in charge of the geriatric homes to the sole command of Pablo Iglesias who did not visit any of them, although he did promise 300 million in emergency aid that went nowhere.

When the communist and second vice-president accuses the Community of Madrid and the Community of Castile and Leon, both of the PP, of criminalizing his actions, he forgets that the largest percentage of elderly people died in Navarra, Aragón and Extremadura nursing homes, which are run by the PSOE. Not at all.

Pedro Sánchez and his endless council of ministers have only shown coherence in three things: the Government is not responsible for the pandemic, it has managed it better than anyone else in the world, the 8-M did not influence the massive infections, reported that same day in the afternoon. Nothing has happened here. A guy who boasts that a third of workers live on public subsidies will never accept that the direct and induced deaths - with or without PRC tests - are close to 50,000 if we take into account the data from the Social Security, the INE and the Carlos III Institute. They don't care. This cabinet acts with the sentimental and lying victimhood of the nationalists. It's all the fault of the others.

This government has undertaken a settling of scores with the disappeared from March until now - because it is incapable of admitting that the purgatory of the coronavirus has become a family, social, political-constitutional, economic and moral hell. And, moreover, they water with public money an indecent slogan: we come out stronger. Spain is still in rigorous mourning and neither the government announcements nor the mourners are going to forget this criminal silence. How are we going to be stronger with so many families broken and ruined by this coronavirus of eastern origin? If the pandemic had come from the USA or if the People's Party had ruled, the confinement would have been broken every day and every hour.

Changing the rules of the game

We have not had access to the morgues, nor to the burials - they have been dismissed as stinking, worse than those murdered by ETA - and in this government story the bells have not rung for loved ones; but for missing strangers who do not count in the mourning of this Spain that has learned very quickly to be silent, to resign itself and not to bother the all-powerful and authoritarian power.

The State of Alert has brought us in a hundred days to the State of Exception. Confinement has been the perfect excuse to change the rules of the game. The Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campo, has already explained it in the Parliament: "together with the constitutional crisis, we also have a constitutional debate and we have to make it happen between all of us, we cannot leave anyone out This man is a partner of the Speaker of the House. Let's not forget. We're walking to the one power with three functions?

And if we carefully observe the beheadings of the Benemérita, the pressure from the State Attorney's Office, the Attorney General's Office, the head of the Interior, Grande-Marlaska and the resounding silence of the Constitutional, Supreme and CGPJ, to the judge Rodriguez-Medel, we will see that there is a unity of joint action: change the rules of the game in the middle of the "exceptionality" and "rewrite the Magna Carta" to take us directly to the III Republic, without a moderate socialist in the way as Mr. Julián Besteiro who raises his voice to prevent this decaffeinated coup d'etat. Goodbye Transition, goodbye.

The beginning of the judicial process to the king emeritus is the first step to blame Philip VI and delegitimize the parliamentary monarchy. There is a majority in Congress and in the Senate. I have to be sincere and reflect that Margarita Robles has had the courage to deny the "noise of sabers" and to claim the validity of the Law of Laws. But she is the only minister of 24 (I include Dolores Delgado; Attorney General)

As if gasoline were not enough, Alberto Garzón reaffirms that communism is still in force: in China, in North Korea, or do you prefer Cuba or Venezuela? In Spain, of course. And he anticipates to his colleague Carlos Segovia that "we must reduce the deficit without cutting down on spending and he insists on the tax on banks". Straight to the ration book. Iglesias and Calviño, deathly silence.

This is the material from which the dreams of a Frankenstein government are built, which ignores the data of the dead, closes the page of Transparency, still does not give us the names and curricula of the scientific experts and has definitively forgotten "the consecration in the Constitution -and never better said- of the CPI to update the pensions".  When the president economist has been asked about the revaluation of pensions, he no longer knows and does not answer. Wasn't that an election promise? Now, while we wait for the manna from Brussels, the speech is the MVI (Minimum Vital Income) that, already exists with different denominations in all the Communities.

Reducing inequalities

The scandals of recent weeks (pact with Bildu, dissolution of the Civil Guard, advantage to the PNV, Mesa de la Vergüenza with Torra and ERC, unfair distribution of 16,000 million to the Autonomous Regions, chaos in public and concerted education now and for September, nonsense in the Universities, ERTEs (partial unemployment) without paying since March... independents, car, tourism and bulls without response, etc) have taken all the luster out of the millennium's star measure. The minimum living income. No one can oppose it, because no one is against the fact that our compatriots are suffering from hunger and that no one stays on the road in an opulent and wasteful society.

But, if we want a basic income, why not a basic part-time job with paid hours cleaning cities, waterways, mountains or caring for the elderly or dependent people?  This populist measure - necessary in difficult times - will prevent many people from wanting to enter the world of work. The PER's experience in Andalusia and Extremadura confirms that this aid has not added one percent to GDP since its creation at the time of the UCD, with Minister Garcia-Añoveros at the head. Why not extend it to the rest of the Autonomous Communities? Because that would simply be suicidal.

We have entered a phase of de-escalation of inequalities that will lead the middle class to misery. The dimension of the crisis will only be neutralised with the ethics and austerity that President Adolfo Suarez has taught us. And the reduction of public spending - there are more than 17,000 million in uncontrolled subsidies and another 40,000 million in administrative duplication - must be the first subject to be approved in September. European funds will not be free.

Objective: Budget 2021

This government - it should be noted - has carried out a sixth and, hopefully, final extension of the state of alert thanks to the Ciudadanos. The fifth, the centrists met with the Bildu Pact to boost labour reform and the sixth, with ERC, began a new meeting (in person) in Barcelona for the Table of Shame with Torra

Edmundo Bal's useful policy is only Ivan Redondo's ability to make his "Manzanares card player" talk about transversality, -that is to say, about nothing-, to reaffirm that his partners are what they are -separatists, putschists and bilduetarras- and that the only thing he is interested in are the PGEs. The price: all it takes. With the rescue of Europe - there is no way out - he will approve fairy tales that cannot be sustained for more than one or two years, when the ruin of our country and the middle classes will be a fait accompli.

Then I could extend them for a few more years and go to another general election from power with millions and millions of subsidized people. Chaves in 1992 and Maduro in 2013. For that, he has as his master Zapatero -the rigger of the electoral recounts in Caracas- who still doesn't explain the theft of his corrupt ambassador Raúl Morodo and who is now betting from his luxurious house in Aravaca (Madrid) with the creation of a Quadruple Alliance with China, Venezuela, Cuba and Iran to "make life impossible for Donald Trump's United States". A bullfighter in La Sexta and in the digital false news.

A Quadruple Alliance with a pair. Another who did not see the crisis of 2008 coming - "you are unpatriotic", the king of the Champions League lied shamelessly, and who led us into the first crisis of this century, after covering March 11th with reinforced concrete. He is the teacher of Pablo Iglesias and the tutor of Pedro Sánchez, the ceremonial one.

Don Pedro appears on television with Franciscan language, selling humility and calling for unity when, 72 hours before the Congress, he throws his sharp tongue of insults to the right and to the extreme (right) as if he were a male saint based on centrism. Bal's life was spared after cutting off his head at the prosecutor's office. And he still trusts a man who has no words

Pablo Casado can now reach out to him with five or six reasonable points so that the Commission for National Reconstruction is not dismantled. The President insults him like nobody else, then Adriana Lastra humiliates him and condemns him without mercy: "Either you support me unconditionally - says the President - or you will be the permanent ally of the extreme right and the extreme right", he demands as the visionary Caesar of the right corner of the blue bench. Is he bipolar? No, he is an impostor.

Nor is there a plan B in de-escalation, except the temptation for Ciudadanos to support budgets to stay in power until 2030. I hope that you will not support and consolidate this regime change, not with my vote. Those who announce the break-up of the coalition government do not know that this pact will not be broken, because the official car and the carpet are the mortar that has forged this iron pact for power. Peter and Paul are trapped and there is no way out in Moncloa.

We need only waste an hour analysing the President's signature to prove conclusively that we are dealing with a man without scruples, without insecurity, without principles and without pity for his opponent. Power is everything in his life. He thinks he is a warlord and believes that the world will end if he does not rule. He presides over a Visigothic state: incompetent and corrupt. Isn't it corruption to create an entire employment agency for administratively paid positions for friends and relatives of the party?

He plagiarizes and/or manipulates like his own grandiloquent phrases in his speeches, as clear as the plagiarism of his doctoral thesis in economics. He thinks he is immune to all the wounds of fate. After the sermons of the Monclovite, one leaves with more shadows than lights, with more uncertainties than guarantees, with more fears than certainties. He hardly uses the word "freedom"

This social-communist left infects everything and that explains the weakness of the state and of the government itself, which goes from contradiction to contradiction and from lie to lie. Don Pedro Sánchez Pérez Castejón -Dr. Sánchez, I presume- is a dangerous politician. Alone and/or in the company of others. After dozens of hours of monologue in front of the screen, he is not capable of making us commune with millstones about the efficiency of his management. And we wonder: what did he say? The great Woody Allen, would answer with his ironic talent: "Thank you, Mr. President, for nothing".
