Tribute and remembrance to Paco Soto
These days, it's been two years since Paco Soto Payá died in his hometown in Alicante. Excellent journalist, great person and friend, Paco is an inseparable part of the spirit of ATALAYAR. A fighter, until the last moment he worked as a media professional, giving news, analysis and interviews a touch of the future, a human touch. Paco believed in the ATALAYAR project, which, when its inventor Javier Fernández Arribas started it up, looked like a fishing boat in the middle of a storm. He gave his best, and the magazine won its place in its own right.
Our colleague was already battling against cancer when he wrote his book STORM TIMES whose protagonists are the millions of humans who feel alone, fighting against adversity, incurable diseases or the anguish of an uncertain tomorrow. I do not believe in chance; but his premonitions today are reality. Paco, with his long journalistic career in Europe and Africa, had a sense of the evil that threatened us, and gave the magazine the strength and optimism to fight against the current. Following his example, ATALAYAR will not give up.
