Broken plates

Congress of Deputies Spain

We usually identify the end of domestic disputes or sentimental ruptures with the breakage of dishes, and above all, plates. I have no idea exactly what it is that makes this utensil so necessary for eating in the Western way, but it is usually the first thing we look for and reach out to break them when the anger grows stronger or when a relationship has reached a point of no return and, in order to make a point, we calm down or show our anger with the loud and forced breaking of the dishes.

The pieces that remain after the debacle, are usually many, annoying and difficult to make them disappear in one go, because there are always small pieces left in every corner, which, again, brings us back to the moment of the crisis but also reminds and magnifies the fact that that dinner service, was the one that one day we bought or chose with a lot of care, affection and with the hope that it would help and accompany us all our lives; Tableware which will never ever be recovered because it is usually difficult to find a replacement in the market, unless it is a cheap piece to cover a temporary and unimportant need.

So, our illustrious president, the one behind the sui generis motion of censure based on false and spurious facts; the one about the doctoral thesis written by a ghostwriter. The same man who promised with all his might, not once but countless times, not to make a pact with Bildu, to stay away from Iglesias, to respect the Constitution and the Head of State and never to deceive the Spanish people.

He has broken almost all the china of his political wedding dowry and now he even begins to rummage around in the corners because he knows that there are still a few more pieces missing and that for them to disappear completely he must make them suffer the same fate as their lot mates, with all his anger and true evil. It is true that, although he is the president - even though Iglesias might sometimes forget or not really believe it - and therefore the one most responsible for everything for better or for worse, he is very well escorted and sometimes even seems to be guided by such a soul friend; The one who no longer loses his sleep; the one who, travels free of charge, well accompanied by his clan, regardless of expenses and as often as desired.

That friend who used to insult others, who made ugly and dirty remarks to politicians, laughed at everything and enjoyed seeing the police and guards with their heads split open by the iron bars or bricks thrown by his fellow party members when they took to the streets to protest against the former government; Now, however, there are dozens of civil guards surrounding his house, denouncing anyone who moves near his house or speaks ill of him, and even causing a union policeman to be suspended from his job and salary for two months because he calls him "el Moños" (Bun-headed in english) and, despite his hair is indeed braided to form a bun, this word seems to really offend him. A poorly dressed man and a worse-dressed assistant professor in the Faculty of Politics, whose intelectual level must be poor since he seems unable to get a regular seat, as easy as that should be.

Sánchez, in his permanent marketing campaign has even pulled out the remains of Franco from his grave because, according to him, his first vice president and the then Justice Minister and now Attorney General, it was a popular clamour and an urgent and peremptory national demand. In the end, after much political turmoil, including the involvement of the Vatican, excessive media hype, and excessive coverage by friendly live television, that media circus only brought a few hours of popularity. If he thought he could get a lot out of such hypocrisy and considerable expense, he has only served to go down in history as the president who brought Franco's many legacies to life, as it was the case with El Cid Campeador. After so much removing historical memory, it now turns out that because of this, some statues and streets dedicated to socialists and communists will be forced to disappear or change. This is what often happens when one goes too far in legislating so much and so hard that one forgets that there are many things to keep silent and to be hidden on one's side, and many other things.

His anger and desire for revenge have been growing so much that already in his head and way of acting anything is possible to happen; absolutely everything has a place in his perverse and unarmed mind; He lives in a permanent imposed or inculcated hatred, unbecoming a young man who has had everything in life without giving much effort, just like his partner, who, although she comes from a family with some unsuitable businesses, is well off and now enjoys all privileges and superb salaries, even though she has no merit with which any of them can be endorsed or justified.

As a faithful pupil, he follows in the footsteps of Zapatero, that sorcerer's apprentice who "studied economics in two afternoons" and therefore led us to total bankruptcy, the inventor of the nation of nations and of the concept of nation being discussed and debated. The one who, instead of counting clouds, continues to make a fool of himself inside and outside the country, trying to deceive the whole world, while he hides some spurious interests yet to be discovered, because frankly, one would have to suffer from idiocy, if he does things for nothing in return, just for appearances or for the love of art; something that nobody, except someone who is very absent-minded, can swallow.

Our president, as a "lucky" man, in order to pave the way more easily in his immense perversity, had the opportunity of the arrival of the COVID 19 pandemic; thanks to that situation, and as a consequence of having kept his ears deaf and his eyes fixed on other places, it arrived in Spain and settled down here in all its harshness, something which was exacerbated by his bad or non-existent management. Thus, we became the worst country in the world in terms of management and the third in terms of the number of deaths in proportion to the population, which justified a very harsh and painful state of alarm of three months in extended periods every fifteen days and a confinement of a month and a half which served to make it possible, under the protection of an old law, to do whatever came to mind for such a long time and without having anything to justify it.

To this end, initially, as almost everyone believed and trusted his word as president in times of severe crisis, he had the support of the entire parliamentary spectrum, which, incidentally, fell into his clutches due to ineptitude, lack of clarity of ideas, little experience and in some cases little or no dignity. Later, gradually and when things were already bad and obvious and owing to various factors such as the many legislative abuses, continuous rudeness, errors and certain abuses, his support was waning until it reached the point where he was supported only by his colleagues in office (the worst ones in Spain) and residual Ciudadanos partys, who walks against the tide since their natural leader abandoned them and is now in the hands of a lady who is an expert in ignoring her deceived voters, doing what she wants and criticizing those who she later urge to join her on the electoral lists.

Today - after a disastrous summer for everyone but him, his government and a long list of friends who, it seems, always accompany him at all costs to places and in official media - the health situation, due to the strong upsurges, has again deteriorated and once again, he leaves a long ordeal behind; although this time, having learned the lesson of the previous stage, with subtle differences that must be listed: the terms of the alarm are no longer extended every two weeks; the situation will last six months without anyone being able to refuse it; the president no longer has to go to the floor to give an account or ask for support to maintain the situation; as it is a tough and painful job, he delegates responsibility to the philosopher who plays the role as Health Ministe: ;  he has the country in the longest state of alarm in the history of mankind and plunged into the second worst bankruptcy in the EU, waiting for funds that God knows how will they ever be provided. Responsibility remains in the hands of the Autonomous Communities, and any action proposed by them must be approved by the government.

Thanks to so many states of alarm, he has been able to remove, twist or approve laws at will and as a matter of urgency, without passing the mandatory filters or the recommended deadlines and without any consensus with the social agents, the affected sectors or the opposition, depriving the Spanish people of the legitimate right to have them discussed as they should be in the Houses of Parliament and the Senate. This is a veritable bulldozer in the purest absolutist and dictatorial style; so much so that the generally timid and slow EU has not been able to look out so much and has had to draw attention on several occasions because his claims and ambitions seemed suspicious.

Last week, taking advantage of the fact that the EU has raised its hand and, for at least two years, will look the other way as regards containing expenditure, the excessive increase in deficit and debt (the second big stroke of luck for him and the worst news for Spaniards), he approved a draft budget that is false and unfulfillable, however many twists and turns and deceptions are attempted. He has also managed, by a single vote more than the required absolute majority, to approve the worst, most sectarian and destructive education law that we Spaniards could ever imagine. A law that attacks and lays the foundations for destroying special and concerted education, disregards effort and true capacity; just as, and this is serious, it allows that depending on how the Autonomous Communities think and consider, Spanish will or will not be the working language, although it will continue to be official throughout the State.

Little by little, they have taken over the key positions and functions for the operation and control of the state and the citizens themselves; it has been years since the management and administration of RTVE was taken over, although officially it was provisional, making it the most fetid propaganda tool at the exclusive service of the government; Then the person who had been, up until a short time before, the Justice Minister, was appointed as the State Attorney General for controlling the judicial actions and accusations of a collegiate and organically structured body; The president made this very clear with that unfortunate, unashamed, intentional and live phrase during a public interview: "On whom does the Prosecutor's Office depend? Indeed". Subsequently, without delay or pause, the figures in the key positions of the leadership of the National Police Force and the Guardia Civil were gradually replaced by people "less conflictive or even more accommodating" than the minister in charge, Not satisfied with this, the content and publications of the media and networks began to be controlled, first by denying it publicly and in parliament and later by legislating on it underhand, with excuses as vain as avoiding the hoaxes, the so-called "fake news" from anyone but the government itself and thus attacking the fundamental principle of freedom of expression, which is enshrined and defended in our Constitution.

Following his tactic of launching balloon probes to analyse reactions, many steps have already been taken. Destructive steps in all directions, coordinated and almost all of them at the same time, to prevent us from being able to detect and study them fully in order to be able to react. This maddening array of changes, reforms and transfers may be the reason why Sánchez has surrounded himself with the most extensive, costly, and incompetent cabinet for the good, but very efficient for the bad and destructive in the history of democracy. He needs torpedo boats on all sides of this drifting ship before he sinks it for good.

Among the things in progress or soon to come are the pardons for the prisoners who were the protagonists of a coup d'état against Spain and its Constitution three years ago; although, later, some well-coordinated organisations, encouraged by various influences or black hands, renamed it a nonsense or a simple dream and disguised it as sedition. Not happy with such a felony, the process of amending the Criminal Code is already underway, to leave the crimes against the State in nothing, as they are nineteenth-century and out of date, although, in reality, it has just happened and its protagonists, still in prison, are announcing at all costs that they are willing to take them on again.

In Spain, even with the encouragement or direct involvement of some members of the government, the King is outraged, the flag is burned and trampled underfoot, one or several banana republics are demanded through illegal channels and the victims of terrorism are offended and denigrated, even with official disdain and unworthy approaches by prisoners without any sign of repentance and without anyone saying or doing anything to solve these serious facts which have even lost such consideration. Indecent agreements and state pacts are made with those who wish to break up the Nation, with the heirs of the terrorists who have never condemned the suffering caused by the nearly one thousand dead killed and the thousands of injured and affected left behind by the terrorist group ETA in its violent criminal raids. New statutes are being forged that provide for all kinds of disconnections and various cessions between the territories of Spain, which for centuries constituted the longest-lived nation in the Western world. Social Security is about to burst and we shall then see what happens to pensions.

After the next two or three years of improvised and more than likely exaggerated spending, the support of interested parties in search of votes and supporters - Spain will end up in a genuine and irreparable bankruptcy; the decimated workers, those who by then are not living on unemployment, if there is still any fund to pay for it, will not be able to bear so much tax and the cost of paying for the exorbitant expenses of a government without restraint or moderation; when external aid ends, which will end, it will not be possible to afford so many people living off the few who work, and even less so, thought must be given to reducing somewhat a more than exaggerated debt and a spectacular deficit, which, just for the interest on what remains unpaid, will continue to grow unabated.

Today's Spain and its government are not exactly a model or positive example in foreign relations; On the southern flank we have Morocco, which, although it has always been a diversion for Spain at times of greatest weakness or political difficulty, in recent years it has been on our side, demanding water and resources in its own areas, keeping us on edge with fishing quotas, invading our markets with cheaper fresh fruit and vegetables, and we should not forget that Spanish companies are the leading investors in their territory, so any difficulty or lack of understanding would jeopardise much of the Spanish capital that has taken root and is growing there. It holds the key to its own and its neighbour's emigration; it opens and closes the tap at its pleasure to put us in difficulty whenever it deems it appropriate; its armed forces are equipping themselves with modern material, while ours are making a great effort to bring out and maintain, with scarce resources and smaller budgets, a material which in many cases is almost obsolete and with which we intend to balance forces. The problem of the Sahara is still latent in the UN and in relations between Polisario and Morocco, while everyone looks to us as the country that holds the key to finding the final solution when we have forgotten about it. Meanwhile, our president, disregarding all advice, has not yet deigned to visit his neighbour in Rabat and the second vice-president is encouraging bad feeling and the self-determination of the Sahrawi people's remains, thereby discouraging the King of Morocco, who, in these ugly matters and for economic reasons, does not usually allow himself to be intimidated.

Our relationship with the EU is that of a beggar and the second worst health and economic situation among all the members of the Union, apart from the fact that we have tried to lie and have been tricky with them so many times; therefore our image and prestige are quite damaged. In NATO, we are a kind of plague because we spend very little to contribute to the overall and individual defence costs of the Alliance. We will see how our relationship with the United States, badly damaged by the political and economic turmoil developed personally by the Trump Administration, changes; The proliferation of Bolivarian and anti-Spanish movements in those lands, as we are considered harmful colonisers, and also the many interferences of more or less prestigious figures from Spanish politics in the development of its policies and future, create a breeding ground that is very conducive to losing our influence among them permanently.

This is an extremely difficult and complicated scenario for the ministry of the sector to amend, although I fear that things will not be able to be fixed for a long time and the massive deterioration in the international arena will undoubtedly increase.

Last June I wrote and published a work entitled " Has Spain died? "; today, with only a few months left, I dare say affirmatively " Spain has died and is on the way to its definitive extinction " we are a country without a future and most Spaniards, after years of subtle and direct indoctrination, have their blood run cold and they have lost the desire to react. We live immersed in the hope of subsidies and free grants without thinking much about tomorrow, as if all these gifts and perks were some kind of inexhaustible manna, which would last for eternity.
