Spain is lost
It is not exactly advisable or even fatuous to begin a work of analysis and opinion - however particular it may be - by talking about oneself, and even less so if this mention is made almost exclusively of oneself. But it is worth reminding the not very numerous group of people who daily feel deeply what Spain is and represents, how much it hurts us to see it vilified and the fact that in the face of so much rubbish and spittle we try to combat it with words, acts of repudiation or opinion articles.
For many years now, this group of pseudo-preachers in the wilderness has been chanting almost alone, trying to alert and awaken sleeping minds, the distracted, those who live permanently looking the other way, those who always expect others to protest or fix things and, above all, those who with their votes, directly or indirectly, support in power those who do most damage to Spain, its history, customs and tradition.
In 1978, we Spaniards in good faith believed we had taken a giant step forward; but, as always when we do something more or less important, we tend to look at our navel and immediately think we are the best, that we have become the example and guide for others who, with healthy envy for our decision, will follow in our footsteps and, what is even worse, that with this political act, all or almost all the evil we have been dragging along for years and the inherent defects or mortal sins will have been healed and forgotten forever.
When it comes to celebrating or achieving something, we Spaniards never skimp on expenses, effort and pomp, and on this occasion we did the same and went all out, despite the fact that we misunderstood, very misunderstood, what democracy is all about. We did not stop to think or compare what many of our neighbours and allies before us had done in adopting this sublime political stance and we, in our splendid understanding, firmly believed that absolutely everyone has a place in democracy, which is why we did not close the door to anyone -although in other countries around us, some parties such as the fascists and the Communist Party, have it firmly shut-, to join us on the benches of the Cortes and the Senate.
After a few huffs, applause and hugs, we opened the windows and doors wide to let in fresh air in the hope that the ever-declared enemies of Spain, those who only wish it ill and want to see it torn to pieces, would forget their past, roll up their sleeves and join in to row this heavy boat to a safe harbour in a not very long voyage.
Again, we were wrong again; as experimenters, inventors and adventurers we have no equal, but it is also true that we never usually succeed in our feats, trials and exploits alone against the real experts in doing harm and with those who seek disorder or confusion and evil. We forget recent ugly experiences that, unwittingly, had led us to an execrable and painful war, which, like all wars between brothers, are called civil wars, although many soldiers die in them, fulfilling the wishes of politicians who are totally out of control.
We went about our business, and so we decided to seat everyone at the same table, without thinking that some, perhaps many, had the spirit of revenge engraved on their foreheads and minds, that they had to make up for lost time, change history by any means necessary and be the protagonists of a new era in which the victors of that campaign would become the vanquished, and vice versa.
A generic evil that is part of the DNA of those who do not usually have much respect and show pain for their loved ones recently killed by the thousands in the present pandemic due to the mismanagement of the national government from the first moment it appeared in our lives and, nevertheless, it seems that if they do not know where the remains of their great-grandparents or other relatives who disappeared in the aforementioned conflict are, they are not capable of living or sleeping like Sánchez, without feeling a serious depression or great pain in their souls due to the lack of consolation that grips them.
These hooligans, profiteers and profiteers of every living or dead being, soon, after appearing holding a banner or sitting on the ground in street assemblies, made a career, sought their own ways to get to the university and take up positions in politics, They sought their own ways to get to university and take up positions in politics, in the media and in talk shows where they used and still use all kinds of tricks, invented phrases and false or distorted stories to deceive a public that is not very educated and bored of seeing that everything promised by the heroes of the fatherland did not reach their pockets and their mouths were not fed.
The perfect storm arose when their theories and palaver were supported by innumerable cases of corruption in the two political parties that alternated in the Spanish government, although, to tell the truth, some knew how to cover up or hide their shame early on, misleading the avid expectant by making the mote in someone else's eye much bigger than the beam in their own.
The vicissitudes and ups and downs of politics, the natural changes of situation and the progressive loss of political and personal quality of the leaders meant that all the governments formed in democratic Spain had to rely on the worst in the hemicycle, the separatist parties, who, as we well know, make firewood out of every fallen tree or gather the nuts from the tree moved by others.
Favours are paid with favours, and as the favours increased, the bigger the bill on the table, presented shamelessly and shamelessly to be collected in cash and without delay, which led to everything, little by little, but steadily and increasingly, being turned upside down until the worst character that can exist in political life arrived, President Sánchez, a worthy disciple of Zapatero who really was the one who led the way and took the baton to guide a Socialist Party that was ready to lose its dignity and democratic corporatism to become a purely dictatorial, personalist and anti-Spanish party to the core.
Sánchez has shown himself to be a man without scruples or dignity, who moves on the basis of spontaneous ideas or those forged in the darkest part of his mind and whose pulse does not tremble to do, in a matter of hours, the opposite of everything he promised during his successive campaigns and time in opposition. Someone who questions everything; who respects nothing and no one, who cares little about what he has to do to stay in the Moncloa seat and who even allies himself with the pro-Ethiopians to continue governing at the expense of respect for the unity of Spain or the separation of powers and the health or money of the citizens. A man who has lost all his personal prestige and who is leaving Spain's name in tatters, as an unreliable, isolated and despised country in the international arena, totally beggarly and beggarly and who, in spite of this, does not stop spending the money he does not have and that which others give or lend him.
The government's giving the separatists' and communists' dreams such a free hand, the lack of attention, action and reaction of previous governments and the dirty work of a nefarious and false peddler who, having been president of the government for two terms, lives making a fool of himself and a laughing stock in the Americas, have further contributed to this hatred of the Spanish people, further encouraged this hatred of Spain to cross the natural boundaries, invading Europe and even jumping the pond at the hands of some "inexperienced" teachers, who, disguised as apprentices or simple young advisors, made their own personal Americas while spreading hatred of Spain wherever they could.
From all those winds, suddenly came all these storms. It is no coincidence that in many parts of Spain and in several countries of the American continent, our flag is not respected in unison, the King is humiliated, statues are pulled down and monuments that recall the passage of our ancestors through those lands are desecrated. These steps, however much they want to disguise and debase them, primarily brought them culture, religion, a common language and civilisation, even long before many European lands, and brought them out of a great backwardness, of ancestral customs and cults where even human sacrifices were offered in all naturalness.
We have suffered for centuries from the famous "black legend"; mainly the result of British envy and bad blood, with which they hid the forms, ways, uses and customs of those other European countries, which for decades or centuries dominated large parts of the world, plundered them to exhaustion and brought slavery to the world, focusing their fallacies and lies on the Spanish and their crown while covering up their own execrable excesses.
A black legend, which has resurfaced again outside Spain with terrible virulence, because the aforementioned scoundrels have managed to recover it to export it in a much enlarged form as their personal contribution to make it possible to divert the attention of poor, clueless and subjugated citizens, who, having had the good fortune to be born in rich lands, live dominated by a communist and Bolivarian system, ruled by illiterates, plunderers and tyrants, and whose almost inexhaustible reserves have been plundered or committed to foreign capitals or powers ad nauseam.
The continuous lack of political attention, the lack of real professional preparation in the Administration and in certain powers of the State, a very bad or ill-intentioned foreign policy, the lack of preparation of totally negligent and egocentric leaders, as well as the dastardly revanchism of those despicable Spaniards who hate their homeland, has brought us to this point and I fear that there is no solution.
Our so-called centre-right is still wrapped up in its own quarrels, bickering, fine furs, complaints in the courts or in clinging to a chair that provides it with its personal sustenance, even if its party disappears or remains residual. Their mouths are full of the word "Spain", they say they love it with all their might and promise to make it recover its internal and external policy, economy and splendour; but, for the moment, they do not lend a hand to each other and there they remain crouched in their corner, waiting for their competitor to slip up and give them the coup de grace that will leave them senseless and lying on the canvas like a common loser.
In the meantime, the main mastermind of this whole hoax and smelly situation continues to deceive and bullfight the Spaniards on a daily basis; on holiday in La Mareta with family and friends at the expense of our taxes and waiting for the promised millions from Europe to arrive in September which, well distributed as he sees fit, will guarantee him the votes of many thousands of people and hundreds of companies bought to live today and when the inexorable tomorrow arrives, when it is time to return the money he has spent, we will see what to do or how to repay for the services, favours and all the support he has received.
In the meantime, we have finished the Olympic Games with a result that is too discreet and not worthy of a country like ours, even though we are gold medalists in youth unemployment in Europe and very close to such an award in the management of the pandemic. And Sánchez bombards us with a sign behind his back every time he speaks, which is not infrequent, which reads "Cumpliendo" in case we hadn't heard. In other words, Spain is lost in every way.
