The Iranian uprising in brief - Day 121

The Iranian national uprising has entered its fifth month after a day of large rallies and demonstrations against the mullahs' regime in several cities in Sistan and Balochistan province, especially in the provincial capital of Zahedan. Large numbers of residents took to the streets on Friday in the Baloch cities of Zahedan, Rask and Khash, chanting slogans directed specifically against the regime's supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the paramilitary Basij forces and other units of the regime's wide-ranging crackdown. Residents of the provincial capital of Zahedan and other Baloch towns have long been oppressed by the ruling Iranian regime and have been bravely protesting against the mullahs' atrocities for decades, especially in the last four months.
On Saturday morning, at around 9am local time, some 500 relatives of common prisoners held in the regime's jail gathered in front of the so-called mullahs' court building to protest against the conditions of their relatives' detention. These relatives had travelled to the Iranian capital from different and distant cities. Some of the children were seen holding banners that read: "Don't execute my father! The authorities sent security forces to disperse the crowd under the false pretext that the judicial system is closed today".
In Sanandaj, capital of Kurdistan province, brave young people blinded the surveillance camera of Khamenei's repressive forces that was installed in the city's Madar Square.
Reacting to the execution of a former Iranian regime official, Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian Resistance, said: The heinous execution of former Deputy Defence Minister Alireza Akbari, as he said himself among the IRGC commanders in the Iran-Iraq war and the Badr Brigade, showed the savagery of Khamenei and Raisi even towards their closest agents. The UK should close the regime's embassy and sever its ties with it.
Iran's nationwide revolt marked 119 days on Thursday as protesters continued their campaign against the regime, focusing on night-time rallies. There have been increasing reports of people burning regime propaganda boards and posters of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, writing anti-regime slogans on graffiti and using Molotov cocktails against various regime-friendly locations, mainly bases of the paramilitary Basij units of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
Desperate to put an end to the ongoing protests in Iran, the mullahs' ruling regime has stepped up repression and threats, including an increasing number of death sentences against detained protesters. Having already executed four people arrested during the recent protests, the regime faces a nation determined to continue its campaign for freedom and democracy and refusing to back down in the face of the mullahs' repression.
Mohammad Broghani is another detained protester on death row in Gohardasht prison and reports indicate that his death sentence has been temporarily suspended. Ghobadlou and Broghani were sentenced to death after being tortured to extract confessions under duress and without due process, even under the regime's own laws.
According to reports circulating on social media, regime authorities deployed large numbers of security forces to Gohardasht (Rajaie-Shahr) prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, in the early hours of Thursday morning. Activists say it could be preparations for the execution of Mohammad Ghobadlou, a protester arrested during the latest rallies of the ongoing revolution.
In Tehran, protesters set fire to a large banner of the regime's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the head of the IRGC's Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated.
Also in Tehran, residents set fire to a pro-regime billboard in protest at the recent executions of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini.
In Shiraz, in south-central Iran, protesters attacked a base of the regime's oppressive security forces early this morning local time.
