Poisoning of schoolgirls continues to spread in Tehran and other cities
On Saturday 4 March, parents outraged by the poisoning of their daughters demonstrated in several parts of Tehran, including in front of the Ministry of Education and the rectorates of districts 1, 2, 5 and 8. They also protested in front of several schools, including Bahar-e-Azadi school. The repressive forces prevented the families from gathering in front of the Ministry of Education, but the mothers gathered at the nearby crossroads.
The families shouted slogans in front of the rectorates of districts 5 and 8: "down with this child-killing government", "we don't want this child-killing power", "pasdaran, Bassij militia, you are our Daesh", "our enemy is right here, they lie when they say it is the US", "hey bystanders, the next one to be poisoned will be you", "they killed our children and replaced them with mullahs". The repressive forces attacked the family gathering, assaulting and arresting dozens of people.
Parents of students in Isfahan and Ardebil organised protests in front of the rectorate and, in Kermanshah, in front of Masoumeh High School. In Esfahan, angry mothers chanted: "Vitiating women or poisoning schoolgirls are crimes" and "we do not guarantee the safety of children with sticks and truncheons".
On Saturday, many students, mainly from girls' schools, were poisoned with poison gas. They are Esmat and Hojjat schools in Safadasht of Mallard (Tehran province), Jamaloddine Assadabadi and Etemad Fard girls' schools in Tehran, two schools in Islamshahr, Towhid girls' High School in Shahriar, two girls' schools in Parand and Pakdasht in Tehran, Mehr Vila Boys' Primary School and Barjesteh Secondary School in Karadj, Ahmad Fatehi Islamabad Girls' Secondary School in Karadj, Mohajer Girls' School in Karadj, Banafsheh Girls' School in Karadj, Rafati Girls Primary School in Rasht, Kovar Girls School (Fars Province), Fahmideh School in Qom, Nur al-Zahra Girls School in Orumieh, Vali-e Asr Girls Secondary School in Zandjan, the Janat School in Sanandaj, the Abrichami Kashani girls' Primary School in Mahalat, the Massoumeh School in Tabriz, two girls' schools in Hamedan, the Ketabchi girls' School in Kashan, several schools in Isfahan and Kermanshah, and a girls' school in Lahidjan.
Ms. Maryam Rajavi described the widespread and systematic poisoning of students across the country as an unprecedented crime, which only the inhuman clerical regime is capable of committing. The crime that has been going on for the past three months started in Qom and has spread to Tehran, Tabriz, Karadj, Hamedan, Kermanshah, Mahalat, Sanandaj, Zandjan, Rasht, Orumieh, Isfahan and other cities. Greeting the students and families who demonstrated, he called on students, women and youth to support them in order to turn this despicable crime against the regime.
