It's not a problem of age

Biden also recalled Trump's physical age, 77, but above all he emphasised his mental age. A good strategy to be able to face the attempt to revalidate the White House with 81 years and obvious ailments, although the Democratic politician tries to conceal or minimise them.  

Biden is a political personality in what is known as the Washington power establishment. He has held important posts in government and administrations and was charged with bringing down an authoritarian populist character who jeopardised stability and international relations through his protectionism, both politically, economically and commercially, but above all because of his interests.  

It is true that the mentality, the way of being, the principles and values that should govern the actions of a political leader have taken second or third place in too many countries and on too many occasions.  

It is unacceptable that no matter how much of an ex-president he may be, Mr. Trump pretends to do as he pleases, and what is more relevant, to avoid being accountable to justice not only for his irregular activities during his presidency, his relations with the porn actress Stormy Daniels, but also for his business practices. 

Fortunately, American justice is coming, but, what doesn't add up is that the polls say that every court Trump enters, he gets more popular support. So far he has won the Republican nomination. He has far outperformed other candidates who dared to challenge him. And, now on the campaign trail, Trump is sparing no insults, threats, impossible promises, challenges and challenges to everyone with a totally authoritarian performance, with a populism capable of deceiving and cajoling millions of Americans. The November elections are only a few months away and we must be prepared for what may happen in the United States because it will affect the whole world. 

But we should also be preoccupied as a matter of priority with the European Parliament elections in June. Some politicians use their supposed personal and family anxiety to stage emotional electioneering theatre in order to cover up a disastrous administration and very serious cases of corruption. Creating a false emotional atmosphere in order to act with even more impunity. It is not a question of the age of political leaders, it is their attitude, their principles and values, the team that surrounds them and their management and results. The rest is a farce.
