Vaccines in the Emirates
The controversy unleashed by the vaccination in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, of Elena and Cristina, daughters of King Juan Carlos I, is absurd and malicious. It is a demonstration of ignorance; on the one hand, because more than six million people from all walks of life have already been vaccinated in the United Arab Emirates. Bearing in mind that the Emirati population is 1.2 million, this is an undeniable reality, revealing the habitual intoxication of the accusations made against the Crown for the privileges that the princesses have supposedly enjoyed.
In the Emirates, vaccination is available to all, not just to what some illiterate people consider to be oil sheikhs. Vaccination teams go around the buildings in the cities of, for example, Abu Dhabi, and vaccinate everyone who is there, whether rich, poor, Emirati, Filipino, Pakistani, European or American. It is not an exceptional and lascivious privilege that during a visit to their father they were offered vaccination and they accepted, as more than six million people have done in this Gulf country.
A country which is at the forefront of the vaccination process, which is researching its own vaccine and which, during this pandemic year, has distributed more than 2,000 tonnes of health aid to fight COVID to more than 121 countries around the world, enabling more than 1.6 million doctors and health workers in those countries to carry out their work in caring for the thousands of people infected. Among those countries receiving a visit from the Emirates or Etihad airliner with aid is Iran, whose regime is at odds with the Emirati rulers who are trying to prevent Iranian expansion across the Middle East with military and financial support for radical groups such as the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and their own militias operating in Syria, Iraq and Libya. A regime that wins followers and supporters through television programmes, among other things. We can agree that the Infantas' discretion regarding their vaccination would have been highly advisable to prevent their totally logical and innocent decision from being used not against their father, who is already facing his departure from Spain, but against the institution, against the Crown as Head of State of a parliamentary Monarchy fully committed to the rule of law and the Constitution and the current King, Felipe VI, who maintains an exemplary behaviour in favour of freedoms and democracy; being a fundamental bastion for the unity of Spain against the Catalan independence movement that does not comply with the laws and against those who want to put an end to the regime of 1978 based on consensus and the Constitution.
This is the true objective of those who seek to change Spain from a minority position reinforced by their presence in a government conditioned by those who take on any unacceptable challenge in order to remain in the Palacio de la Moncloa. The vaccines episode is just one more in the crazy list of accusations raised loud and clear thanks to the costly media network that spreads the pejorative statements of those who live, earn and act very differently from the way they say they should think, earn and act. There is no outrage in Spanish society over Elena and Cristina's vaccinations, merely the noise of a clearly and defiantly orchestrated campaign by those who realise that this is their only chance while under the succulent and lucrative shelter of the government and its resources. Once this nightmare time passes, hopefully as soon as possible, franchises will abandon the mighty hand that can no longer feed them and we Spaniards will then have the vaccine we need against the populists and Leninists comfortably settled in their large Galapagar villa. As it was the case with HB supporters in the Provincial Council of Guipúzcoa and the city council of San Sebastián.
Our main concerns are both unemployment and the fact that Spain and Europe lack the vaccines they need.
