4.831... New beginnings

Mohammed VI
On this day marked by Royal Grace, not only do 4,831 households experience a new serenity, but an entire nation sees its values of tolerance and reconciliation reinforced.

This royal decision, of immense symbolic and social significance, testifies to the Kingdom of Morocco's constant and historic commitment to cultivating a climate of trust and encouraging the active participation of all in building the future of the nation.

This royal pardon granted to cannabis growers is not a simple gesture of clemency, but embodies the noblest expression of royal magnanimity, rooted in the humanist approach adopted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, God help him, throughout his twenty-five years of reign.

Indeed, this sovereign act highlights fundamental values such as tolerance, forgiveness and compassion, which have become the pillars of the Kingdom's governance and which we must all emphasise in our values as a population creating a common dynamic for a better Morocco.

This approach is part of a broader vision, a better Morocco, aimed at improving the living conditions of peasants by promoting a spirit of tolerance and reconciliation within Moroccan society.

With this action, His Majesty the King reaffirms not only the nobility of his intentions, but also the eminence and relevance of his initiatives, which are distinguished by their profoundly humanist and sovereign character, transcending immediate circumstances and conjunctures.

In this regard, I would like to underline that it is quite unique to note that the Sovereign is unpredictable... but above all visionary, for his actions are not anticipated because his vision is unique and we quickly witness its effectiveness.

It is therefore important to underline that this Royal Grace is based on the strategy of developing legal cannabis channels, an innovative policy embodied in law 13.21 on the legal uses of cannabis.

By integrating growers in the affected regions into legal and income-generating activities, this law paves the way for a significant economic transformation, as this policy goes far beyond the simple regularisation of agricultural activities, and aims to eradicate international drug trafficking while curbing the exploitation of growers by criminal networks.

In conclusion, the Royal Pardon granted to cannabis growers is part of a dynamic of renewal and progress, and above all reflects an ambitious Royal Vision for a fairer, more tolerant and united Morocco.
