Child soldiers in the Polisario

The leaders of the Polisario Front could not have been so brazen in violating human rights as they were in committing the most vulnerable people, children. In the Tindouf camps, they have proceeded to recruit children, uniformed and trained for a military parade. Nothing can justify going to the extreme of recruiting children, who should only be subjected to training, education and a humanitarian culture as the most basic principles. Training as "child soldiers" is typical of organizations such as Daesh for their terrorist militants, or of fanatical Palestinian factions that use them for their fighting operations without the slightest respect for compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which, by contrast, is advocated by the Polisario.

Precisely, this has happened two weeks after the celebration of the International Day of Child Soldiers (12 February). It demonstrates that the Polisario Front continues to act with impunity before the international community and the recommendations of the UN.

The Canary Islands Saharawi Forum, as well as the Spanish portal Tribunalibre.info in its article 'Child Soldiers in the Polisario Front', wants to report this situation, and that measures should be taken in the face of this violation of the rights of the child, a fundamental pillar in the life of every society. War is destruction and death, not a game with which it tries to educate children, who should be taught peace and coexistence, just as the Polisario tries to spread with the program 'Vacaciones en Paz' in its exchanges with Spanish families.

The international humanitarian aid destined for the population of the Tindouf camps is to alleviate the needs of the oppressed and needy Saharawi population, not to be a commodity for business on the black market, where part of the profit is dedicated to the purchase of uniforms and military equipment for the children, and another part has already been reported on other occasions the purpose for which it is spent by the leaders of the Polisario.
