The freedom of one ends where the freedom of the other begins

Sáhara

The freedom of one ends where the freedom of the other begins; I begin with this illustrative phrase to refer to the serious events that are happening these days in the border area of El Guerguerat.

These events that are taking place in El Guerguerat, organised by the dictatorial leadership of the Polisario Front under proclamations such as "with the rifle we will snatch freedom", contradict and are very far from what this leadership wants to convey to the outside world about peaceful demonstrations by civil society to convey a message in a peaceful manner to the United Nations mission in the Sahara, MINURSO.

Since they began on 21 October 2020, these "peaceful" demonstrations have become a kind of "Kale Borroka" directed from Rabun and Algiers; it is an act of provocation to the international community represented by the United Nations and to the neighbouring countries that are victims of this suicidal decision by Polisario and its ally to divert attention from their real internal problems.

In the last few hours we have helplessly witnessed how these so-called peaceful demonstrators destroyed the infrastructure that facilitates citizens' transit, such as the road from which these demonstrators and members of the 'Kale Borroka' of Polisario's leadership did not hesitate to pull up to the asphalt (see pictures).

In view of these cases of sabotage and provocation by the outdated Polisario leadership and its ally to export its intestinal problems and create a climate of instability in the whole region, which is already fragile, the international community must take the appropriate measures and put an end to the bravery and arrogance of Polisario and its ally that is leading our region into a very dangerous drift.
