Mon père n'est pas mort (My father is not dead). Adil El Fadili. Morocco, 2023, 100 min. Azzeddine Meddour Award for first film.

Malik and his father Mehdi live in an amusement park where they work as handymen. Mehdi gives his son five special paintings. Curious, Malik is dazzled by the beauty of these works. The next day, the two of them accidentally meet in the middle of a political rally. Mehdi is mistreated in front of Malik by two policemen who accuse him of propaganda against the government. That same night, the police burst into the amusement park and arrested Mehdi. Shocked, Malik begins to search for his father with the help of the other fairgoers, finding answers in the paintings his father has left behind.

Closing by the director of the Seville European Film Festival and the president of ASECAN.
