French journalist and writer Kenizé Mourad presents her latest novel In the Land of the Pure

The Three Cultures Foundation and the publishing house Msur Libros, in collaboration with Casa Mediterráneo, are organising a unique encounter with French journalist and writer Kenizé Mourad, author of landmark works such as In the Name of the Dead Princess and The Garden of Badalpur, in which she combines personal memory, history and political analysis with great narrative sensitivity.

On this occasion, Mourad will present her latest novel translated into Spanish, En el país de los puros (MSur Libros, 2025), in conversation with journalist and writer Ilya U. Topper. Set in Pakistan, the work courageously exposes the tensions between tradition, religion and power, and offers a profound reflection on the role of women in contexts dominated by extremism.

Throughout her career, Kenizé Mourad has worked as a journalist for media outlets such as Le Nouvel Observateur, covering conflicts in the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. Her work, both literary and journalistic, has made her an essential voice on issues of intercultural dialogue, human rights and geopolitics in the Arab and Asian worlds.
