The Three Cultures Foundationis participating in the Seville Flamenco Biennial with a parallel programme, dedicating the Tuesday Film Screenings of September and 1 October to the screening of films dedicated to the world of flamenco and its great figures.

Thus, on 3 September the documentary Antonio Mairena, la raíz del cante (Antonio Mairena, the root of flamenco singing) will be released, opening this calendar of films that will continue with La Singla, Fernanda y Bernarda, Carmen y María. Dos caminos y una mirada, and Paraíso de cristal.

The documentary ‘Paraíso de Cristal’ (Crystal Paradise) shows a current and unique image of the coexistence between gypsies and non-gypsies that contradicts all stereotypes and prejudices. Through flamenco, the gypsies of Andalusia have found their place in society and proudly bear the name of their ethnic group. Five protagonists demonstrate that coexistence without conflict is possible and that art plays an essential role in this.
