This time, this musical event adds dates in July to its traditional location in September. Diana Krall will perform on 23 July and the group Simple Minds on 26 July. In September, Vetusta Morla will perform on the 6th, The Psychedelic Furs on the 7th, Noa on the 13th, Mikel Izal on the 14th, María José Llergo on the 20th, Patti Smith + Quartet on the 21st, Coque Malla on the 27th and Amaral on the 28th.

The CaixaBank headquarters in Plaza de Colón in Madrid hosted the presentation of the 4th edition of the "1001 Músicas" festival as a "strategic partner" of this music cycle, according to the bank itself.

In a festival in which "tradition and avant-garde come together hand in hand", with the presence of CaixaBank through its commitment and support for music "with a view to generating a positive impact on society".

The Junta de Andalucía also highlighted public-private collaboration as "synonymous with success", also in this case of the "1001 Musics" cycle. Furthermore, the great privilege of the Junta de Andalucía to host this festival was highlighted, thanks to its "reputational and economic repercussion".

Pepe Rodríguez, director of the "1001 Músicas" festival, explained that "the possibility of organising this festival in Granada is a unique opportunity and experience". "There is no more beautiful showcase than the Alhambra, the most visited monument in Spain and one of the most visited in the world," said the director of the music festival.

Pepe Rodríguez highlighted the great reception of the festival and recalled that last year more than 15,000 people filled practically all the sessions; with the presence of local and foreign audiences. Foreign audiences accounted for 40% of the total number of attendees, coming from up to 42 different countries. New York, for example, stood out as the first city in terms of international ticket sales for the festival.

Pepe Rodríguez stated that the aim of this initiative is to "launch transversal musical proposals to the world" that "generate emotions". "We're getting there," said the festival's director.

The director of Proexa, organiser of the musical event, highlighted emotions as the key to an event like this: "I go to the emotions generated by each artist and this line-up is very exciting".

He also reviewed the various artists taking part. Such as Diana Krall, who is participating this year thanks to the contact established last year with her husband Elvis Costello; Vetusta Morla, who are at their best right now with an "emotional show" at their concerts; The Psychedelic Furs, whose music Pepe Rodríguez has been "in love" with since he was young, thanks to musical works like "Forever Now"; Mikel Izal, who is starting his solo career after leaving the group Izal to open up to "new sound languages"; María José Llergo, the "youngest by far" of the festival and who reminded Pepe Rodríguez of the Rosalía of years ago with "strength, passion and an unorthodox way of interpreting flamenco"; Patti Smith, "a legend" and "a lover of Granada"; Coque Malla and Amaral, with "very moving songs"; and Noa, invited this time thanks to the "turn towards the Eastern Mediterranean" included in this edition of the festival.

Precisely, the Israeli singer was at the presentation of the festival and said that she is "delighted" to perform in the Alhambra and to be part of this line-up of artists. She also added that "Granada and Andalusia have a great symbolic value" because three religions lived in harmony in the city of Granada, something to highlight in the current situation of hatred and fighting, which "must be combated". The musicians are the "messengers" of this new message.

The Israeli artist explained that her new musical work comes with songs as therapy to express what was inside her after the tragic events of 7 October with the attack by the extremist Hamas movement against Israel that triggered the current war in Gaza.

In short, the "1001 Musics" festival will be held in the Generalife of the Alhambra next July and September with ten concerts, five national and five international representatives and five male and five female protagonists. All this for a musical cycle that seeks "transversality in the language of sound and feelings".

Pepe Rodríguez himself announced more for the future: "Nothing and no one will be left without coming to Granada with the support of the sponsors, CaixaBank and the Junta de Andalucía". "We have to dream of the stars, not of anything below", said the festival director.
