The Economic Society of Friends of the Country is hosting the presentation of the House of Mexico in Malaga and Andalusia on Friday 15th September at 12:00 noon.
The presentation of this entity will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country, in the Plaza de la Constitución number 7 in the city of Malaga, and the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre Prados, will speak before authorities and businessmen.
The event is open to the general public. Mayor Francisco de la Torre Prados will be in attendance, along with Patricia Navarro Pérez, Government Delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government, as well as consuls and businessmen.
Claudia Luna Palencia, president of the Casa de México in Málaga and Andalusia, will also attend. The head of the organisation is a journalist and writer; this year she received the Francisco Zarco Journalism Award from the Congress of Deputies in Mexico City for her excellent journalism specialising in geopolitics and geoeconomics, and has received several awards.
Claudia Luna is Mexican with Spanish nationality and of Andalusian origin through her grandfather, who was born in Linares and ended up as a refugee in Mexico during the Civil War. Luna Palencia came to Spain in 1999 to live in Madrid, but as a correspondent she has been in various parts of Europe and for the last twelve years she has lived permanently in Spain and in Malaga for the last five years and has worked as a correspondent reporting on the Spanish Government in Moncloa, covering major international summits.
The Casa de México en Málaga y Andalucía is a private organisation founded by a group of Mexican and Spanish businessmen and individuals. Its aim is to promote cultural, economic, investment and commercial ties between Mexico and Andalusia. It also has a social vocation to give scholarships to low-income students with good grades who want to study at university or vocational training. The scholarships are for students in Andalusia as well as in Mexico.
The event is organised by the Casa de México in Málaga, Casa América de Málaga and the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Málaga.
