The airline Binter has inaugurated its new direct connection between the Canary Islands and Essaouira (ESU), in Morocco, which marks the beginning of the last activation phase of its summer schedule, in which it will connect the islands with more than 30 foreign destinations.

The Canary Islands airline is thus launching the most comprehensive foreign programme in its history, with more than 650,000 seats on up to 230 weekly flights on more than 45 routes, which represents an increase of 12% compared to the summer of 2022 and almost triples the capacity operated the summer before the pandemic. This shows the effort made by Binter to continue contributing to the improvement of air connectivity in the Canary Islands, in its commitment to consolidate its offer of direct flights to national and international destinations.

In the peak period of the season, Binter will operate an average of 257 flights a day on the 63 air routes operated by the company both within the archipelago itself and on connections with foreign destinations.

First flights to Essaouira, Tangier and Ibiza

This Saturday Binter inaugurated the first of its three new destinations for the month of July. The plane bound for the coastal city of Essaouira took off from Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) at 11:20 am and arrived at the Moroccan airport at 13:05 pm, from where it returned at 13:45 pm.

On Wednesday 5th, the second of this month's new routes will be inaugurated, linking Gran Canaria (LPA) with Tangier (TNG), in Morocco; and on Thursday 6th, the third, with Ibiza Airport (IBZ), completing the company's offer with the Balearic archipelago, with flights to all its airports this summer.

Reactivations with Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife South from Madeira and with destinations in Morocco

Also on Saturday, the Canary Islands airline resumed summer connections between Madeira Airport (FNC) and the airports of Fuerteventura (FUE) and Lanzarote (ACE) and between Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de la Laguna Airport (TFN) and Marrakech Airport (RAK).

This Sunday, 2 July, it will resume direct routes between Funchal (FNC) and Tenerife South (TFS) and also the direct connection between the Portuguese airport and Marrakech (RAK).

Finally, on Saturday 22nd July, Binter will reactivate the direct connection with Fez (FEZ), which puts the icing on the cake of the largest route schedule in the history of Binter with the North African region closest to the Canary Islands, with more than 78,000 seats offered on up to 36 weekly flights covering 11 routes with eight destinations: Fez, Marrakech, Agadir, Guelmim, Laayoune and Dakhla, to which Tangier and Essaouira will be added.

This programming has become a reality thanks to the exceptional relationship that Binter maintains with the ONMT (Moroccan National Tourist Office) and is part of the implementation of a collaboration agreement between both parties with the aim of reinforcing their commitment to the recovery of tourism and connectivity with the Canary Islands.

A passenger-centred service

Passengers on these routes will enjoy the differential advantages of the product offered by Binter, with a high-end on-board service focused on offering the best customer experience, including extensive features such as a complimentary gourmet snack during the journey and a comfortable journey aboard its modern fleet of ATR 72 and Embraer aircraft. The latter provide passengers with a very comfortable experience, as the aircraft, with a 132-seat configuration, has no middle seat and allows a distance of 79 centimetres between rows to enhance the comfort of its occupants.

The airline has introduced new in-flight services for flights to Madeira and Marrakech and will serve tuna and corn focaccia on flights from Madeira to the Canary Islands and Marrakech, and tuna with peppers on flights from the Canary Islands to Madeira and Marrakech.

All these flights are now available through the company's different sales channels: www.bintercanarias.com, the Binter app, telephone 922/928 32 77 00, travel agencies and airport offices, where the conditions and prices of the different destinations can be consulted.
