Minsait, an Indra company, and Google Cloud have announced the launch of their joint digital sovereignty offering, which includes external management and administration of encryption keys for Google Cloud customers, the addition of support services in Spanish and greater transparency of operations, thanks to the ability to authorise, monitor and audit access to information at all times.

These services will provide companies and institutions with all the security controls required by a sovereign cloud, with a data governance and infrastructure operation model. Minsait will reinforce these services through SIA, Indra's leading cybersecurity company, which has a complete framework of solutions for detecting threats, protecting assets and responding to security incidents, as well as advising on the secure transition of data and processes.

"The proposal gives organisations ultimate control over information encryption and provides a higher level of autonomy and data sovereignty. In addition, the collaboration with Minsait will help them take full advantage of the intrinsic benefits of the public cloud by boosting their competitiveness, with the most advanced data protection measures available and aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements," explains Roberto Espina, CEO of SIA.

"We believe that this joint offering, tailored to the needs of Spanish organisations in both the public and private sectors, will enable our customers to embrace digital transformation with the utmost confidence. The partnership with Minsait reinforces our commitment to providing cutting-edge cloud solutions that prioritise security, privacy and data sovereignty, and is part of our near-term Cloud in Europe initiative," said Isaac Hernandez, Country Manager Iberia, Google Cloud.

"From the CCN we see that the natural way to combine the great possibilities of cloud technology from companies like Google Cloud with the requirements of sovereignty and control over the data of companies and public bodies necessarily involves adopting approaches such as the one announced today," adds Luis Jiménez, deputy director general of the National Cryptologic Centre of the National Intelligence Centre (CNI).

This joint offer will allow Spanish Google Cloud customers to store their data in the Google Cloud region in Spain, cover their data localisation needs and protect them with SIA's maximum encryption key capabilities, which are stored and managed outside the Google Cloud infrastructure itself, preventing access to them without the customer's express authorisation.

Minsait staff in Spain will also be responsible for support activities on this information. In addition, it is a proposal that is presented in an easy-to-implement format, allowing companies to add digital sovereignty controls to their data with just a few clicks, without any additional infrastructure.
