In one of the latest threats to cryptocurrency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US has warned that hackers are now using fake rewards in "play-to-earn" mobile and online games to steal millions worth of cryptocurrency off unsuspecting users.

According to a new Public Service Announcement from the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center, the hackers use custom-created gaming apps that promise massive financial rewards directly proportional to investments made to potential targets after building a relationship with victims over time, and when the victims stop depositing funds, their wallets are drained by enticing them with fake rewards.

Regulatory bodies across the world, including the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, have voiced their advocacy to introduce regulations to prevent cyber scams surrounding cryptocurrency after a United Nations report showed that cybercriminals stole nearly $3.8 billion in cryptocurrency in 2022 with North Korea responsible for $1.7 billion of them.

As the world of digital assets advances with each passing day, meme tokens like Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) look to further solidify their spot at the top of the meme coin space while new entry SignUp Token looks to revolutionize the crypto industry.

Dogecoin - The Weekend Price Reversal

Dogecoin (DOGE), the crypto industry's first-ever meme token, showed an increasing movement after rising by 4.29% in the last 24 hours at the back of a downward moving week, which saw DOGE crash to a 7-day low of $0.06302. The 24-hour rally, however, ensured DOGE was trading at $0.06942 but still indicating a weekly decline of 6.31%.

Dogecoin’s 7-day low came during the same week it posted a weekly high of $0.07583, and according to experts, the sentiment for Dogecoin’s price prediction is bearish.

Shiba Inu - The Shibarium Spike

Shiba Inu (SHIB), the “Dogecoin Killer”, registered a 3.15% spike in its price at the back of a 7-day low of $0.000009728 as users anticipated the beta launch of layer-2 blockchain Shibarium. SHIB was trading flat throughout last week but saw a breakthrough over the weekend hours after the release of Shibarium, which saw its price trading at $0.00001056.

According to data released hours after the release of Shibarium, the burn rate was up by over 2452%, with over 602 million SHIB removed from circulation.

SignUp Token - Revolutionizing Cryptocurrency with an Email

Singuptoken

SignUp Token is one of the latest tokens built on the Ethereum network with a simplified interface that allows an average crypto way to invest in cryptocurrency in a far easier way. The ERC-20 token stands out from other cryptocurrencies as it offers its users a simple and convenient way to invest in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) companies by letting consumers sign up with just their email addresses to secure a token.

Based on the principle of simplicity, SignUp Token does not have a presale to launch and instead has a target of 1 million email sign-ups to go live on the market on the Uniswap exchange platform and will allow investors to trade SignUp Tokens for other Ethereum-based digital currencies. This essentially means a user does not require a cent to secure a token, and the process is time efficient as it takes not more than a minute to complete, and a user does not require any specialized knowledge of cryptocurrencies or decentralized finance.

The project ensures that all email sign-ups are verified to avoid automated sign-ups and that users are constantly notified of updates via email.
