Following the approval of the incorporation of the NewCo for Space, Indra strengthens its portfolio with the acquisition of Deimos

Reinforcing Indra's capabilities in all phases of a space mission, including satellite design and integration and ground segment

Indra has signed a contract with Elecnor for the acquisition of Deimos, a Spanish space company specialised in the development of space missions and satellite integration, which has subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and several European Union countries. This deal represents a significant step in Indra's space strategy, complementing other recent developments, including the approval of the spin-off of Indra Espacio and the creation of NewCo de Espacio, and the integration of the Startical initiative into its portfolio.

On 27 June, the Shareholders' Meeting approved the spin-off of Indra Espacio, which had already been announced in the presentation of the Leading the Future Strategic Plan, together with the creation of the Space NewCo, recently approved by Indra's Board of Directors. This new entity will serve as a vehicle to offer comprehensive capabilities along the entire value chain of the space sector, aspiring to position Indra as a relevant player in national, European and international space programmes and initiatives.

In a first step to achieve this ambition, Indra has signed a contract with Elecnor for the acquisition of Deimos, which will strengthen its capabilities in all phases of a space mission. Deimos will provide key capabilities in the integration of satellites and flight critical subsystems. This acquisition will also enhance Indra's capabilities in the ground segment, especially in mission and control software, and in space surveillance and tracking. In addition, Deimos has a strong position with space institutions, participating in national and European programmes and initiatives, which will strengthen Indra's position in the space sector. The transaction is expected to be completed in the last quarter of the year, once the usual regulatory approvals have been obtained.

In addition, in order to strengthen the positioning of the Space NewCo in the downstream segment of space capabilities exploitation, Indra's stake in Startical (50%), a project for the provision of communication and surveillance services for air traffic management, will be incorporated into the Space NewCo.

With these developments, Indra demonstrates its commitment and ambition to become a European leader in the space sector with a comprehensive presence in the value chain. The operation is also part of one of the key growth lines included in the Leading the Future Strategic Plan, presented this year by Indra. This new company plans to incorporate long-term global partners to increase financial capacity and accelerate inorganic growth in Europe, with the ambition of reaching revenues of more than €1 billion by 2030.
