The CEO of Indra Group, José Vicente de los Mozos, stated at FEINDEF, the international defence fair being held this week in Madrid, that ‘the defence industry must reorganise and establish a strong and cohesive network,’ adding that ’Europe must stand united.’

At the meeting moderated by journalist Mónica Carrillo, entitled ‘Indra's vision for the defence industry’, the executive stated that, given the budget increase and the major European programmes that are going to be launched, we need to grow quickly because there is a window of opportunity of three to five years to get involved in them.

As proof of Indra's capabilities, de los Mozos explained that ‘in just 12 months, we have created a leader in the space sector with Indra Espacio and the acquisition of Hispasat and Deimos; we have launched Indra Land Vehicles in response to the need to renew armoured vehicles; we have developed the most advanced anti-drone system, Aracne; IndraMind intelligence; and we have become a leader in cyber defence in Europe and NATO. All this in response to the lessons learned from Ukraine’.

He stated that ‘Indra's technological potential is extraordinary’ and added that ‘of the last 19 R&D projects announced by the EU, Indra is involved in 12’.

De los Mozos stressed that ’we have to grow if we want to be relevant in Europe. We have the ambition to reach 10 billion euros in turnover and, to do so, we have to grow organically and inorganically.’

He explained that ‘the important thing is that Indra is at a dynamic moment, we know where we want to go and it's not all about acquisitions: we are also establishing alliances in Spain, Europe and globally.’
