Indra contributes to the improvement of Spain's foreign trade with the evolution of the Maritime-Port Single Window

After designing and implementing the Spanish Maritime-Port Single Window, Indra has been awarded a new contract with Puertos del Estado to renew it technologically, provide it with new functionalities and adapt it to the European environment, thus contributing to the improvement of the competitiveness of the ports and the Spanish foreign trade.
Specifically, Indra will adapt the DUEPORT national single window system to the European single window regulation 2019/1239/EU and the EU customs code, and will be responsible for its maintenance and user support.
The Single Window allows port actors to complete once and send electronically to the relevant authorities all the data of vessels arriving at a Spanish port, documents and formalities required on calls, berthing and operations. The solution handles an average of 400 calls per day and serves the 46 Spanish ports of general interest and the ports owned by the autonomous regions, as well as more than a thousand agents involved in the operations.
Puertos del Estado also provides the competent authorities in Spain, other Member States and European authorities such as the EMSA (European Maritime Safety Agency) with the information they need.
The adaptation of the existing single window solution to Regulation 2019/1239/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Maritime Single Window Environment (the EMSWe Regulation) meets its objectives of extending the existing harmonisation between European ports, simplifying the declaration processes relating to the entry, stay and departure of ships from ports, and reducing as much as possible the administrative burden on shipowners and their agents, and on operators in general.
"In addition to these advantages, the DUEPORT system will incorporate new functionalities to improve the service provided to the different actors, efficiency and operation. For this, Indra will also offer a complete and advanced maintenance service that will include the evolutionary maintenance of the system," explains Lidia Muñoz, Indra's Global Commercial Director of Mobility.
The DUEPORT system is connected to the Spanish digital platform for supply chain data exchange (SIMPLE project), which is also being developed and implemented by Indra, to which it provides structured data and real-time information on ship calls, cargo manifests and temporary storage summary declarations.
Through this project, Indra's technology will optimise, automate and streamline port procedures; reduce costs and increase port capacity; and facilitate greater control and monitoring of transactions and goods. It will also ensure a 100% paperless port and, therefore, a more sustainable and environmentally friendly port. In short, it will enable a more efficient, secure and sustainable port operation.

Indra's solution for Puertos del Estado is based on the maritime single window of its Mova Traffic line of solutions, which facilitates an integral and optimal management of the ports.
More than 70 ports around the world are managed with Indra's technology, which has already implemented the Logistics Single Window in Portugal "JUL" and in countries such as Cyprus, Morocco, Angola, Cape Verde or Chile.
