Collaboration agreement between Indra Group and Ficosa Inversión

Indra Group and Ficosa Inversión have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The collaboration will focus on electro-optical equipment with LSAS (Local Situational Awareness System) driving and surveillance support capabilities for the VCR 8x8 Dragón and VAC vehicles.

The executive chairman of Indra Group, Ángel Escribano, and Javier Pujol, director of Ficosa Inversión, explained that both companies are working on investment plans aimed at structuring an industrial fabric. This alliance between Indra and Ficosa Inversión reflects the driving force of these companies.

At the same time, they highlighted the importance of meeting the needs of the defence industry. ‘It is essential to make the most of the technological capabilities of Spanish companies to improve the technological content and defence systems of Spanish industry.’

In addition, this agreement also provides prototyping, industrialisation and manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the field of electronics, as well as collaboration in disruptive technological developments. Indra Group brings to this alliance its dual technologies, its experience as a driving force in the defence industry in large consortia and its ability to generate quality employment throughout the territory. In this autonomous region alone, it has twelve offices – seven in Barcelona, three in Girona, one in Lleida and one in Tarragona – and more than 3,500 professionals.

Network of national suppliers in Catalonia

The company carries out all its activities with the support of a wide network of national suppliers, 350 of which are located in Catalonia, 130 of them linked to defence.

Technological contribution of Ficosa Inversión

Ficosa Inversión contributes, through its subsidiaries, dual technologies that provide technological autonomy to the defence sector in Spain. At the same time, it allows it to apply its long experience in the development of the entire upstream value chain, involving a large number of level 2 and level 3 companies that are integrated into this development of the business fabric. It currently has a team of approximately 2,000 employees in Catalonia, of whom 1,200 are engineers and technicians.

The agreement was signed in Barcelona. It was signed on behalf of the Indra Group by its executive chairman, Ángel Escribano, and CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, and on behalf of Ficosa Inversión by Javier Pujol, director of Ficosa Inversión SL.
