Indra uses the latest technology to modernise air traffic management in Indonesia

Indra is strengthening its position in the air traffic management market in Asia-Pacific after being awarded a new contract in Indonesia with the Asian country's air navigation service provider to renew the country's air traffic management systems.
Specifically, Indra will implement its ManagAir automation solution, one of the most advanced and widely used in control centres and airports around the world, to replace the current system in Jakarta, one of Indonesia's two control centres, a project that will facilitate traffic management in more than half of the country's airspace. This will enable Indonesia to increase flight efficiency through 4D trajectories, which allow for more precise and efficient route calculations. This will contribute to more sustainable aviation throughout the territory by reducing fuel consumption and, therefore, CO2 emissions.
The company is also going to implement its GAREX voice over IP communication systems to facilitate communications between controllers, pilots and other agents. Indra provides a fully digitised solution, which ensures maximum sound quality and security levels.
On the other hand, Indra has also been awarded a contract for the complete renovation of the three air traffic management systems for Balikpapan, Medan and Pontianak.
‘With this contract, we are taking another step forward in our progress in air traffic management systems in Asia-Pacific, a region that increasingly relies on Indra's technology and on our company's ability to implement flexible and highly secure solutions that are tailored to their needs. The development of this project in Jakarta is fundamental to the roadmap set out in the Leading the Future Strategic Plan for the ATM business,’ said Víctor Martínez, Indra's ATM CEO.
Indra's technology is also present in other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. It is notably deployed in three of the four control centres that manage Indian airspace, one of the busiest skies in Asia, as well as in Vietnam, where it was recently awarded a contract to renovate the air traffic management systems at Ho Chi Minh City airport, thus strengthening its position in this market. Added to this is the fact that its technology is implemented in major airspaces such as Chengdu and Xi'an in China, Incheon in the Republic of Korea, as well as in countries such as Thailand, Mongolia and the Philippines, which also operate with the company's advanced solutions.
Globally, Indra has equipped more than 11,000 air traffic facilities around the world and is one of the few companies in the world with a portfolio of new-generation solutions capable of managing a flight from door to door, from take-off to arrival at its destination. The company helps to guarantee the safety of all the passengers who take a flight every day anywhere in the world, as its technology is behind those journeys at some point, making it one of the world leaders in the sector.
