Indra will reinforce its Centre of Excellence in Leon with 150 new incorporations

The Secretary of State for Defence (SEDEF), Amparo Valcarce, visited Indra's Centre of Excellence in Security (CEx) in Leon, accompanied by the Mayor of Leon, José Antonio Diez, and Indra's CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, who explained the ambitious growth forecasts for this reference centre according to Indra's new strategic plan Leading the Future, which foresees the incorporation of more than 150 new professionals until 2027.
With them, the centre will have more than 350 people on its staff, dedicated to developing pioneering solutions for areas such as security, defence, simulation, communications and air navigation, which the company successfully markets worldwide.
Indra's CEO accompanied the Secretary of State, the mayor and the representatives of the Ministry of Defence on their tour of the CEx, where they were able to see the 3D printing room, the engineering and software production centre and highly innovative solutions such as Indra's anti-drone system, Crow; the most intelligent and effective platform in the market for the early detection of forest fires, FAEDO; the shooting simulator, Victrix, or the communication system for air traffic control, Garex.
All these advanced solutions are developed in a centre created by Indra in 2007 with a staff of around 30 professionals and which has now consolidated a solid and stable team of 200 professionals, mostly from the region's universities. The expected staff growth by 2027 will strengthen the centre as a pole of attraction for technological talent and will have a strong impact on the region's economy.

Indra Leading the Future's new Strategic Plan seeks to promote León as one of Indra's main development poles not only in defence and security, with its participation in projects such as the 8x8 or the VAC, but also in areas such as secure communications or air traffic management, carrying out work for the European iTEC alliance.
"I am convinced that this reference centre will help us implement our Leading the Future Strategic Plan for Indra in the coming years. Innovation and excellence in each process are our pillars in the development of advanced technologies for critical sectors such as security, defence and air traffic management", highlighted De los Mozos during the visit, where he also announced a 70% growth plan for the workforce by 2027, with which he emphasised "our commitment to continue strengthening the industrial fabric and developing the talent and technological potential of Castilla y León".
CEx de León is involved in R&D&I initiatives that have modernised the regional public administration and collaborates in national and international projects. Its focus on product development using cutting-edge technologies and agile methodologies, together with high quality standards and compliance with the highest standards and most demanding regulations, both civil and military, has enabled the commercialisation of unique systems for communications, simulation, air traffic control, security and defence.
