LUM EBIKE: passion for sustainable mobility
LUM EBIKE is an international company that manufactures electric bicycles in China. It is also in Germany and now presents in Madrid a very interesting type of bicycle for sustainable urban mobility.
LUM EBIKE is a diverse international group that transforms mobility with stylish, affordable and eco-friendly solutions that have a positive impact on your life and the environment. It is a very attractive option for people in Madrid who like to use this type of sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility.
This company dedicated to electric bicycles seeks to create products adapted to its customers with affordable options to boost the mobility of each person, with maximum respect for the environment. The group's challenge is to encourage self-improvement and promote sustainability.
By harnessing the skills and knowledge of everyone, it focuses on offering ways to move around freely without strict bus schedules, crowded subways or the hassle of flagging down taxis or other means of transport.
LUM EBIKE proposes a relaxed pace for getting around, escaping the stress of being stuck in traffic and breathing in car emissions.
By offering stylish, affordable and eco-friendly mobility solutions, it is committed to having a positive impact on both one's life and the environment.
Now, LUM EBIKE is about to venture into the Spanish market through NI HAO CONECTA (NHC), an entity specialised in public and private economic affairs between China and Latin America, and Atalayar had the opportunity to talk to several representatives of the international group dedicated to electric bicycles. These protagonists told the most interesting details of their company and the activity it carries out with a view to sustainable mobility at a good price.
Joanna Shen, assistant director of marketing at LUM EBIKE, gave details of the group's marketing strategy in Madrid, Spain, and said they were looking for information about setting up a factory in the area, as they see the Spanish people and believe they "enjoy life and have a good time". "We want to do some marketing in the next step, maybe we will have an event to show people our bikes. Then we can connect with magazines and newspapers and people will know that LUM bikes are very international. We will have an interesting and exciting event," she explained.
When asked why people should buy LUM EBIKE products rather than another electric bike, the group's deputy marketing director said one reason is that "they charge very fast". "You don't have to spend a lot of time charging it like other electric bikes. You don't have to waste time charging that you could be spending riding the bike. Secondly, they're special bikes and they're very beautiful. They are designer," she argued, pointing out that they are like a family bike, as well as being for young people and fashionable. "For the family, it saves time and you can charge it very fast. You can take it anywhere. We want to be part of your family, of all families," she said.
Eva Cha, Operations Director of LUM EBIKE, like Joanna Shen, also referred to the group's activity and its electric bicycles.
According to its managers, LUM EBIKE presents itself as an international company that employs a significant number of employees. LUM EBIKE has its own factory and they manufacture for themselves, to have a quality in their product control and to collect all the ideas of the distributors in order to improve the quality of the product. They recommend their bikes because they are very nice and useful for families and individuals in Madrid.
As for the company's international expansion plan, the group's vision is to be a world leader in innovation. With a mission to "provide the customer with a very reliable company and then improve people's mobility with quality bicycles and quality of life".
LUM EBIKE offers advanced designs in its bicycles with outstanding models such as the Porter R1, RVS 1, C1, V1 or V3. The batteries of these electric bikes are fast-charging. "They can be charged for four hours to be able to go up to 110 kilometres with pedal-assist".
LUM EBIKE are for everyone. As the people in charge explain: "It's not just about transport, we think of the electric bike as a connection between life and people. We want our family to ride bikes on weekends. Maybe it's not just for work, it's for the family. It's about going out for fun camping or going to the supermarket to buy something. It's everywhere. It's not just for one thing".
"We have our own factories so we can control our own manufacturing. We collect feedback from our distributors on the design of the product. We take into account the dealers' opinions and our customers' opinions. We do this to make the product design high quality, advanced and passionate. Three years ago, we were at the biggest exhibition in Germany for the cycling world. The slogan of our EBIKE LUM is 'Let LUM light up your life'. This means that our bike is not just a method of transport, but part of your lifestyle; it makes your life brighter and more positive," explained Eva Cha.
LUM EBIKE now chooses Spain, specifically Madrid, to present the brand. The reason is because "Madrid and the brand have the same passion, which is the main reason why we wanted to come here. The meaning of our brand is the passion for people and now the fashion of riding a bike," they explain.
The key word is passion. "I want to say one word and it is passion. Because Madrid and our brand have the same charisma, passion. This is the main reason why we chose Madrid. It matches perfectly with the meaning of our brand. Passion for people, passion for now and passion for cycling. So I want people to have a passion for cycling, a passion for sports and a passion for everything. We also have a passion for our quality, for our brand and for our dream. So passion," said Eva Cha.
The interest is such that LUM EBIKE wants to set up a factory in Spain, possibly in Madrid. According to those in charge, they are selling a lot in Germany and are now turning to Spain: "We want to build the factory here and we want the Spaniards to join us. We are going to do big things and make LUM grow".
As for the work done to enter the European market they explain: "We are an international company, so we have to collect all the opinions of international people to make this product, to involve all the international players, to know how they think and how they merge in this product." At this stage, LUM EBIKE is looking for distributors in Spain to expand its business.
For her part, Anna Zhe, also head of marketing at LUM EBIKE, pointed out that they have arrived in Spain and Madrid, where people are "very enthusiastic". "This time we are here with our bike and hopefully it can be supplied to Spanish citizens to change their life habits for the better. I hope the next plan can be something like building a factory here," said Anna Zhe, who pointed to the idea that the employment rate can be increased together with the local government. "I hope that our bicycle can open up a bigger market in Spain and can be loved by more local citizens and everyone," she said.
Sustainable transport is very important for LUM EBIKE, as Lukasz Sosnowski, representative of LUM EBIKE in its Shanghai office, explained. For Sosnowski, "big cities have to think about what to do to create a sustainable, economically friendly community and give added value to the community". "LUM EBIKE is designed not simply to produce the bikes, but also to create the charging stations, of which there are not many. For example, in Madrid, we have seen maybe two or three. This is the most important thing. We want to create this system where you can use our products, but then you also have a place to charge the batteries. This is what you see in China. In China, at each site you have the charging stations and also a 'Swapping Station', i.e. stations where you can swap the batteries. You just go and swap the battery. This is important because then you don't waste time to charge the battery. This is what we are thinking about at LUM, to create not only products, but also solutions for the market and also for the community," he explained.
The LUM EBIKE representative in his Shanghai office also referred to the desire to set up a factory in Madrid: "We want to be closer to the customers. The Chinese have other customs, also when it comes to sustainable electric transport, for example. For the Spanish it is different, for the Germans it is different, the Poles are different, the French are different... We think that Spain is a huge market and it is a gateway, not only to Europe, but also to Latin America. We have the idea of being a global company. That's why we are thinking of coming to Spain, of setting up a factory, of talking to our consumers, to our customers. We are also thinking about creating the bicycles that the market demands and creating jobs to give this added value to the community".
The commitment of the international electric bicycle company LUM EBIKE to sustainable mobility is clear and the next stop is also clear: Spain, and more specifically Madrid. The investment can be very beneficial in economic terms and also for the environment and urban mobility.
