Minsait brings its proposals for collaborative robotics, decarbonization and OT cybersecurity in industry to Advanced Factories

From 9 to 11 April, the digital transformation company will be attending the annual industrial innovation event with its solutions for improving production chains, sustainability and cybersecurity in operations

Minsait (Indra) will be at the Fira de Barcelona from 9 to 11 April to participate in the Advanced Factories - Industry 4.0 Congress, the annual event featuring the latest technological innovations arising from Industry 4.0.

The company's stand has been conceived as a space capable of reflecting the digitisation of industry from the beginning to the end of the process, setting out its capabilities within a factory of the future to optimise production and logistics chains, to improve the quality of processes or to guarantee OT cybersecurity in these environments.

Deuser, the operations technology (OT) company in the field of industrial digitalisation that Minsait acquired a year ago to improve and expand its capabilities, will present two robotics models with which it intends to demonstrate its ability to adapt to different environments in a user-friendly way.

The collaborative robot is particularly efficient in tasks such as quality control, logistics or inventory management. Equipped with artificial vision, it can detect the presence of people around it and interact with them safely. Likewise, by analysing images, it is able to instantly identify whether a product meets the required parameters, either by checking parts or by identifying surface or internal defects.

The other robotic model on the Minsait stand integrates artificial vision and mixed reality, multiplying industrial applications ranging from manufacturing to customer service. People who come to see this proposal will find a robotic waiter ready to receive their suggestions and prepare them a cocktail if they wish. The robot bar tender can interact with customers thanks to its 360-degree field of vision and its ability to analyse and interpret; mixed reality allows it to display drink options virtually integrated into the physical environment.

Innovations also present at Minsait's stand are its state-of-the-art Scada system technologies, its plant operations management (MOM) technology platform and its digital twins.

Easy access to PPAs

Another of the key phases in Industry 4.0 is decarbonisation. One of Minsait's proposals to support companies in achieving this goal is the technological platform from which it offers more sustainable and competitive contracting methods to industrial customers of energy companies.

This innovation, which visitors to Advanced Factories will be able to discover at the company's stand, has made it possible to condense the complexity of PPAs (medium and long-term contracts between producers and industrial clients linked to clean energy) into a product adapted to the needs of processing and operational growth, simplifying the way it is used and multiplying its performance without the need to increase costs.

Minsait's proposal offers advantages such as reduced calculation times for complex settlement processes or speedy adaptation to regulatory changes in the energy sector. Furthermore, only one person trained in its use is required and it can be easily adapted to new industrial customers or to possible variations without having to face new developments.

These facilities facilitate access to PPAs, an indicator of consumption needs and thus of cheap, green energy generation available to customers of wind farms, hydropower plants or photovoltaic plants.

Cybersecure operational environments

In the industrial sector, the area dedicated to the management of technology and information technology (IT) systems is usually more cyber-protected, but the situation is now more complex in many production environments (TO) as the attack surface expands with the exposure of proprietary and insecure systems, complex environments and with little visibility for the organisation.

SIA, Indra's cybersecurity company, is also participating in the Minsait stand with its proposal to protect industry from the risks posed by the opening of its OT assets to the IT world, the Internet and the cloud.

To address these new challenges and with the premise that production cannot stop at any time in these environments, SIA proposes an OT cybersecurity strategy in this area that encompasses the identification and inventory of assets, detailed analysis of threats and vulnerabilities, the execution of a diagnosis of the status of critical systems and risks, and the development of a plan of initiatives that cover the five phases of the protection cycle: identify, protect, detect, respond and recover.
