Morocco continues to reach targets before the end of the year. On this occasion it is the FORSA Programme, promoted by the State, which manages to exceed the figure set when it was launched this year and began to give the first loans in August. 9,400 contracts signed, 5,300 transfers received by project holders and 4,100 transfers in the process of disbursement are the figures for a project that has given its definitive impetus in the final stretch of the year, achieving very positive results for the state initiative.

The Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy has issued a communiqué in which it points out that "currently, 1,500 project holders receive, every week, the bank transfer of their loan". In addition, to speed up the process of transferring funds, the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), the state body in charge of distributing the money for this project, has mobilised seven financial institutions present throughout the international territory in order to carry out its work as dynamically as possible.

The FORSA Programme is aimed primarily at investment and entrepreneurship among young Moroccans, specifically those residing in the Alawi Kingdom between the ages of 18 and 35. Those who start a business under this initiative can benefit from 100,000 Moroccan dirhams - about nine thousand euros - with zero interest rate and a repayment period extending over ten years. To achieve this, the process consists of four stages and those selected receive access to a financial training programme.

Another positive aspect of this initiative is that of the 100,000 dirhams that FORSA can provide to a new business, 10,000 of it is in the form of a grant rather than a loan. If those selected so wish, they can even benefit only from the grant without the need to receive the loan, which, in addition to being interest-free and with a ten-year repayment period, has a two-year grace period. In this way, the Kingdom aims to encourage investment in the country's 12 regions and consolidate Rabat's regional leadership.

Already last year, King Mohammed VI, with the launch of the New Development Model, made a firm commitment to Morocco's economic potential, and the development that has taken place during this 2022 has proved him right. The New Development Model, with a long-term vision (2035), aims to turn Morocco into a "pioneering power, driven by the capacities of its citizens and at the service of their well-being". In order to achieve this goal, and with the FORSA programme meeting the established objectives, the Kingdom is taking a new leap forward in economic and investment terms.
