Marruecos se embarca en la creación de nuevos proyectos para fomentar el empleo

The Moroccan government has just announced the creation of a new policy that promises to benefit the entire population. Following a parliamentary session in the House of Representatives, the Minister of Industry and Trade confirmed that the Alawite kingdom is embarking on this ambitious project.
According to Ryad Mezzour, the executive is planning the creation of 900 new projects based on the replacement of imports with investment. Morocco will take advantage of the territory's potential to attract foreign and local investment as part of a new national economic expansion.
Investment in Morocco is one of the pillars of the country's economy. Over the years, the nation has taken a series of measures and protocols to start attracting international investment. In doing so, they want to ensure that thousands of private sector companies from abroad find a new place to do business and make a profit.

To this end, Morocco has taken advantage of the great political stability that has prevailed in the country for several years and has begun to implement major tax advantages to attract business. Company directors benefit from tax exemptions and various other incentives to set up in the Kingdom, which is why more and more international companies are becoming well represented in the country.
Moreover, it is worth noting that Morocco is a gateway to different places. On the one hand, if a company sets up in the region, it can begin to expand into the African continent by opening more branches. On the other hand, for countries further east, the Kingdom is located in the Strait of Gibraltar, which opens the doors to America and serves as a gateway to the Atlantic Ocean. Also, given the great relations with the European Union, many international businesses take the opportunity to enter this market.

The minister also commented on the benefits that the projects will bring. As part of the plan to reduce the rate of unemployment and youth unemployment, one of the biggest problems in the North African nation, Mezzour announced that the projects will be opportunities to move into the workforce. According to him, these projects will create 80,000 direct jobs and 120,000 indirect jobs.
According to official data from the High Commission for the Plan (HCP), the Kingdom is currently suffering from an unemployment rate of 12.3%. This is a worrying figure for the government, as in just two years the figure has risen by 0.4 points. The HCP report points out that, above all, unemployment has risen in the more urban areas and many more people living in the big cities are unable to find work. In contrast, in the more rural regions the rate has decreased due to the boom in agriculture and farm-related activities. Among the data, women are the most likely to be unemployed, while the rate among young people is increasing.

Mezzour also said that this new idea had been on the table for some time. In order to do so, the government has had to start adopting a policy to start controlling imports and see what happens, if many more investments are allowed. According to data from the Ministry, 125,000 control operations have been carried out today.
Another question that Mezzour was asked the most was about the simplification of procedures for land that is to be used for the construction of industrial investment plants. The minister replied that these lands are estimated at 10,000 hectares, of which 3,000 hectares will be available for investors. Following this, Mezzour also confirmed that they are working on a plan based on territorial justice to distribute the portions of land in a good way. Depending on the amount of industrial investment, the business will have more agricultural holdings.
