The signing ceremony took place in Marrakech in the presence of Ghita Mezzour, Minister Delegate of the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ali Seddiki, Managing Director of AMDIE, Mohammed Bachiri, Managing Director of the Renault Morocco Group, and Nicolas Rouveure, Managing Director of Renault Digital Morocco.

Renault Digital Morocco will be responsible for developing digital projects for all the company's businesses and its suppliers, from design and manufacturing to marketing and after-sales.

The new Moroccan subsidiary aims to innovate and deliver digital value, with expert, multidisciplinary teams that will participate in strategic development to sustainably transform tomorrow's automotive industry and mobility, as reported by Moroccan media outlet Industries.

The signing of the agreement took place on the sidelines of the GITEX Africa event, a technology and digital summit that unites all communities in the innovation ecosystem on the African continent and which was held in its 2023 edition in Marrakech under the patronage of King Mohamed VI and under the organisation of the Moroccan Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and the Digital Development Agency (ADD).

Renault's case in Morocco continues to be a success story for all the investment and development the French group is undertaking in the Moroccan kingdom. A great example of this goodwill was the double distinction achieved by the Moroccan subsidiary of the French company at the G2T Global Awards. Renault Group Morocco was awarded the "Industrial Excellence of the Year 2022" prize at the G2T Global Awards in recognition of the results achieved in the Moroccan automotive sector. Also honoured was CEO Mohammed Bachiri himself, who was singled out as the third best Arab CEO of the year.

In 15 years, Renault Group Morocco has experienced tremendous growth and has become a key player in the automotive industry in the Moroccan kingdom. With its two plants in Tangier and Casablanca, a production capacity of 440,000 vehicles per year and a supplier ecosystem that has tripled in five years, the group is actively contributing to the promotion of the Moroccan automotive industry.  The Renault Morocco Group's Moroccan production accounted for 70% of the Kingdom's vehicle exports in 2022 and more than 17% of the company's global sales in more than 70 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, testifying to the scale of Renault's activity in the North African country.

The Renault Group has experienced sustained sales growth over the past year and has demonstrated its commitment to technological development and innovation in Morocco. The Renault Group's technological commitment in the Kingdom of Morocco is clear and is manifested by the production of vehicles adapted to the needs of Moroccan consumers and by the French automaker's investment in the research and development of electric vehicles, while also developing a wide range of hybrid vehicles to meet the demand for clean and sustainable mobility in the country.
