Sercobe impulsa una línea de financiación a empresas españolas en Marruecos

The line of international financing for Spanish projects in Morocco is now up and running. This initiative has been created by the Spanish Sectorial Association Sercobe, through its local partner NGI (New Global Intelligent), a consultancy firm specialised in Spanish-Moroccan relations.
This preferential financing service is aimed at companies established in Morocco. The aim of this initiative is to support the implementation of industrial projects for public and private Moroccan companies.
The financing is intended to cover amounts from 20 million euros to be invested in goods and services of Spanish origin. This operation will strengthen the 'Made in Spain' brand in the Moroccan industrial and infrastructure fabric, including large-scale projects.
Spain is the third largest investor in Morocco after France and the United Arab Emirates. A priori, Secorbe's financing will focus on Spanish investments and on projects established in Morocco, in order to strengthen the foreign direct investment (FDI) index in this country and thus encourage the creation of new companies and projects in the southern Mediterranean.
More than 600 Spanish companies operate in Morocco, employing around 20,000 people. The sectors in which Spanish FDI is strongly represented in Morocco include the automotive industry (equipment manufacturers, seat covers, spare parts, etc.), bus assembly (the Gipuzkoan company Irizar) and bus management (the company Alsa).
Other sectors in which the Spanish are investing in Morocco are tourism (with the Barceló and Meliá chains), renewable energies, infrastructures and waste management.
Sercobe is a non-profit organisation that works closely with the Spanish Administration. It represents the authorities of commerce, industry, economy, defence and operators specialised in capital goods manufactured in Spain, as well as engineering, consultancy and infrastructure construction companies.
Almost a year ago, some thirty mayors and their representatives signed the Charter of Malaga. The main objective was to promote cross-border cooperation between Morocco and Spain during the period 2021-2027 and, above all, to develop urban and integrated projects in the municipalities on both sides of the Mediterranean.
The document is a request to the competent authorities involved in the negotiation and design of European programmes for the period 2021-2027. It will have an impact on those affecting Andalusia and its external borders. The signing of the Malaga Charter brought together the Mayor of Malaga and the Moroccan Ambassador to Spain.
