The local authorities of the city of Tangier have decided to build two tunnels in order to facilitate traffic near the Grand Stadium of Tangier during the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup matches, reports Rue20.

The sources consulted by the Moroccan media pointed out that the first tunnel will be completed at the height of Moulay Rachid Street, north of the stadium, at the crossroads between the street leading to the Sports Village, the Zayaten district, and Moulay Rachid Street.

They also explained that the second tunnel, which will be double and 1,000 metres long, will be at the level of Royal Army Street, south of the stadium. Its construction is intended to reduce the heavy congestion on the stretch of road near the Hassani district.

The decision to build the two tunnels followed a series of meetings to discuss infrastructure projects in Al-Bogaz in preparation for two football matches, the last of which was held last Thursday.
