The Club des Financiers du Nord is organising the African Meeting of Finance Professionals in Tangiers

The Club des Financiers du Nord, in partnership with the Professional Association of Finance Directors and Management Controllers of the UEMOA, is organising the 3rd edition of the African Meeting of Finance Professionals on Saturday 24 June 2023 from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Hotel Kenzi Solazur in Tangier.

Under the title "The major challenges of the financial function in times of crisis: how can we prepare, anticipate and act?", this event is organised by the Club des Financiers du Nord, the third after the first two editions of the African Meeting of Finance Professionals, which were held respectively on 13 June 2015 and 29 June 2019 in Tangier, also on the initiative of the Club des Financiers du Nord and in partnership with the Professional Association of Finance Directors and Management Controllers of the UEMOA region, which brings together eight West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

Around fifty finance directors and management controllers gathered around the same table with their Moroccan counterparts from the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region for a fruitful exchange of views on topics of interest for South-South cooperation, in this case the strategic issues of financing and legal security.

After a break forced by the succession of health and economic crises, the Club des Financiers du Nord, in partnership with the Professional Association of Finance Directors and Management Controllers of the UEMOA, has decided to organise the 3rd edition of this African meeting on 24 June 2023 in Tangiers.

The objectives of this meeting, which will be held in an international environment characterised by a series of multidimensional crises, instability and, above all, uncertainty in the coming years, are manifold:

  • To enable financiers from the African continent to address a topical issue related to the main challenges facing the finance function in times of crisis, in order to share experiences and draw the necessary lessons.
  • To bring together professionals from the continent's strategic sectors to discuss sectoral strategies and priority industrial policies in order to rethink together the business model of African companies.
  • To discuss the key role to be played by digitalisation, not only in the finance function, but in the entire management system of African companies.

With this in mind, the 3rd edition will be organised around the following themes:

  • Two sessions addressing, respectively, the sustainability of companies in times of crisis and the digital transformation of the finance function.
  • Two sectoral round tables and debates between professionals from the industrial and service sectors.

The subject of the forthcoming meeting on the 24th came to the fore after the round table "Keys of success for reliable financial information" was held a week ago. The Club des Financiers du Nord, through its president Saloua Lamjahdi, expressed its deepest thanks to its partners, in this case the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the Regional Council of the Order of Expert Accountants of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, the Moroccan Association of Financial Consolidators and the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, for the success of the round table organised at the Mövenpick Hotel on the theme "Keys to success for reliable financial reporting".

The Club expressed its sincere thanks to all the speakers for the quality of their presentations, including Zineb Guennouni, Nafeh Agourram, Mohamed Lahyani, Jalal Sitaleb, Fatima Zohra Iabdounane, Anas Radi, Khalid Raji, Ali Ouariache and Abdelbasset Mohandis. In addition to Bilal Benhima and Jamil Maamar for their interesting testimonies.

The Club des Financiers du Nord also highlighted the work carried out as moderators of the round table by its honorary president, Noureddine El Ouaji, and its vice-president, Youssef Alami.

The Club thanked all participants, members, partners and guests, for their presence and interaction, and congratulated the CFN Board of Directors for their exemplary involvement and dynamism.

It also urged everyone to take part in the meeting on Saturday 24 June 2023 at the Kenzi Solazur Hotel in Tangier for the 3rd edition of the African Meeting of Finance Professionals, organised by the Club des Financiers du Nord, in collaboration with the Professional Association of Financial Directors and Management Controllers of the UEMOA.
