The Finnish ambassador to Spain, Sari Rautio, has visited Iberdrola's Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub in Bilbao. The GSGIH is the company's global headquarters for smart grids.

The ambassador, accompanied by a Finnish trade delegation and the honorary consul of Finland in Bilbao, Carolina Pérez Toledo, were received by Asís Canales, Global Director of Resources and Services at Iberdrola, and Estíbaliz Goñi, Director of Processes and Technology at i-DE (an Iberdrola Group distributor). They visited the Hub's facilities where they were able to learn about Iberdrola's advances in innovation, digitisation and electrification.

Finland is one of the most digitised countries in the world. Around 85.6% of SMEs have digital capabilities in Artificial Intelligence or data analysis above the European average.
