The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Investment Centre confirms its role as a catalyst for innovation

The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Investment Centre organised the second edition of the Territory Development Challenge (TDG) at the Tangier Technopark, where the most voted innovative ideas received a cash prize to encourage innovation, reveal talent and support solutions that lead to sustainable transformation for the region, as well as technical and management assistance.
In this edition, presented by the Director General of the TTA Regional Centre, Yassine Tazi, more than 130 innovation projects from public and private institutions were studied and judged, among which four were awarded prizes.

The first was the idea of Lahcen El Mejdoubi. This innovative project, called MJ Bike Morocco, is a mobile application that serves as a tourist guide, allowing cyclists to discover all the possibilities the country has to offer for this sport and entertainment. The prize was 150,000 dirhams.
The second winner was Ilham Baqqal, owner of Beeka Athletic, for his contribution to innovation in the development of sportswear for women made from recycled materials.
Finally, Mohamed El Ouakrimi received the third award for the development of ECOTIDETECH, a company that produces renewable energy from ocean waves and currents.

Finally, the jury named Taib El Kharraz's project for his traditional Moroccan sewing machine as its favourite, although it did not finish among the winners.
Through these conventions, the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Investment Centre hopes that more and more young people will participate in projects that add value to the country in all areas.
