ASADEDH appeals to the Constitutional Court against the decision of the Supreme Court to shelve its complaint against Brahim Ghali

The Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH) informs the international public opinion of the irregularities noted since the beginning of the investigation carried out by the former judge of the Audiencia Nacional, Mr. Baltasar Garzón, in relation to the complaint filed by ASADEDH against Brahim Ghali, accused of serious crimes against humanity with genocide, associated with crimes of murder, injury, illegal detention, terrorism, torture and enforced disappearances, crimes which, according to international law and the UN Charter, are never time-barred.

However, the complaint filed by the association since 2007 was incomprehensibly shelved this year 2024 due to "prescription" by the Supreme Court, according to ASADEDH.

This is why the association has decided to appeal this decision before the Constitutional Court.

ASADEDH also wants to confirm that it has full confidence in Spanish justice and therefore appeals this decision so that no crime committed against the Saharawi population in the camps of Tindouf (Algeria) remains unpunished and no responsible of the Polisario Front escapes justice.
