ASADEDH denounces the attack on a Spanish family of Saharawi origin in the Tindouf camps

The Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights has issued a statement in which it denounces the aggression suffered by a Spanish family of Saharawi origin in the Tindouf camps and points the finger at the Polisario Front and its director of Military Security, Sidi Wagag.
The statement is reproduced in full below:
We denounce the savage attack suffered by the Spanish family of Saharawi origin living in the Basque Country by the forces of repression of the Polisario led by Sidi Wagag, a person currently under investigation by the Audiencia Nacional and accused of crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity and current director of the Military Security of the Polisario Front.
The events took place when Issa Ellili, a Spaniard of Saharawi origin resident in Vitoria, arrived yesterday 10 January 2022 in the Tindouf camps on a family visit from Spain.
The attack against his physical integrity took place as soon as he arrived at the home of his son Abderrahman Ellili in the camp of "El Mahbes" when two patrols of the Polisario Gendarmerie appeared and without a word they began to beat all the members of the family and to destroy the furniture, according to sources close to the family.
It should be noted that the head of the family Issa Sidi Brahim Ellili is Spanish and was imprisoned in the clandestine prison of Rachid for nine long years.
This is why this association appeals to all the forces defending human rights and especially to the Spanish government to intervene and denounce this new aggression suffered by this citizen and to guarantee his safe return to Spain.
At the same time, we hold the dictatorial leadership of the Polisario and the Government of the Republic of Algeria responsible for the fate of our compatriot Issa Sidi Brahim and his family, given that the aforementioned events took place on their territory.
