Fourth day of the national uprising: strikes, clashes, and repression in several cities
A video that has gone viral on social media shows young insurgents attacking the prefecture of the city of Fasa, in the province of Fars, with their bare hands. Another video sequence reveals direct shots fired by law enforcement against protesters. Military helicopters flew over the city with the aim of intimidating the population, amid fears of a growing uprising. An 18-year-old man named Mehdi Samavati is reported to have died in these clashes, although this information has not yet been confirmed by the regime's authorities.
Below is a series of videos recently received from across Iran, offering a clear and comprehensive view of what is happening there at the moment: https://youtu.be/4RjtFD2n4as
According to the Iranian opposition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), more than 42,000 agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Basij militiamen, and national police were mobilized in Greater Tehran. The regime reportedly ordered these forces: “We are declaring the next four days holidays*: Wednesday is a holiday, Thursday will be added to Friday, and Saturday is already a holiday to mark the birth of the first Shiite imam. You therefore have four days to put an end to the demonstrations.”
As the demonstrations continued, Iranian dictator Ali Khamenei appointed Ahmad Vahidi as deputy commander-in-chief of the IRGC. Vahidi, former commander of the Qods Force (the IRGC's foreign arm), former defense minister under Ahmadinejad, and interior minister under Raïssi, is one of those responsible for the AMIA bombing in Argentina. An international arrest warrant* is in force against him.
With the intensification of student protests at several universities in Tehran, the Islamic Republic has dismissed those responsible for university security (Herasat) at three universities: the University of Science and Industry, Al-Zahra University, and Sharif University. According to the official Rokna website, the Ministry of Higher Education has made these changes in order to “strengthen security governance” and campus surveillance.
Mass executions: historic record in 2025
The NCRI announced that in 2025, more than 2,200 executions were carried out in 97 cities across the country, an unprecedented record in the 37 years* of the Islamic Republic. These executions represent:
- more than double the number in 2024,
-2.5 times more than in 2023,
- almost 4 times more than in 2022.
In the second half of 2025, executions doubled compared to the first half of 2024.
Repression, propaganda, and diversion of the popular movement
Attorney General Movahedi stated: "What we cannot ignore is the structured instrumentalization of the legitimate demands of the people. This instrumentalization is carried out through targeted media networks and the manipulative use of certain individuals who are misled or who disturb public order. > Any attempt to turn economic protests into security disturbances or the execution of foreign plans will be met with a firm, legal, and proportionate response.“
The chairman of the Parliament's Budget Committee, Taghavi-Tajgardoun, has acknowledged a flagrant case of corruption: > ”In eight months, $8 billion* in oil revenues have not been collected. > We have sold $21 billion worth of oil, but only $13 billion* has been deposited, of which $1.2 billion* corresponds to the previous fiscal year."
According to the WIPO headquarters in the interior of the country, the Iranian regime is trying to divert the popular movement by adding audio slogans in favor of Reza Pahlavi* (son of the overthrown dictator) to some videos of the demonstrations, particularly in Fasa. This manipulation is intended to weaken the real scope* of the uprising and divide public opinion.
