Germany and Denmark guarantee support for the training of Ukrainian soldiers

The German and Danish Defence Ministers, Boris Pistorius and Troels Lund Poulsen, guaranteed "lasting" support for the training in Germany of Ukrainian soldiers to operate the "Leopard1" acquired by both countries from the arms industry to complement the shipments of "Leopard2".
"I remain committed to supporting Ukraine wherever possible," said Pistorius during a visit with his Danish counterpart to the barracks in Klietz (east), where this military training takes place.
The German minister also recalled the agreement reached between Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands to supply Ukraine this year with a hundred Leopard1 A5 battle tanks purchased from the arms industry.
The shipment of these armoured vehicles will follow the "Leopard2" tanks already sent by these countries and other allies to Kiev from their respective armed forces.
The "Leopard1s" purchased from industry will complement the German-made battle tanks that Ukraine has repeatedly requested from its Western allies for its counter-offensive to liberate Russian-occupied territories.
The Ukrainian soldiers will receive the necessary training on the territory of both Germany and the Netherlands.
The barracks in Klietz in the "Land" of Saxony-Anhalt has become a training base for Ukrainian soldiers of the European EUMAN mission.
So far, some 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers have received the required training there, out of an estimated total of 9,000 soldiers who will have completed their training at the German barracks.
