The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, paid this Thursday a working visit to Belgium at the head of a large security delegation including directors and executives of the central departments affiliated to the pole of the Directorate General of National Security and the Directorate General of National Territorial Surveillance.

This visit is part of the program of mutual meetings between the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance and his counterparts from the Federal Police and the Belgian Internal Security Service, which seeks to strengthen the mechanisms of joint cooperation in various fields of security and intelligence work.

It comes on the heels of the recent visit to Morocco by the Belgian General Coordinator of State Security, Francisca Bustin, on November 25.

A communiqué from the head of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance indicates that, during this visit, Hammouchi held working sessions and bilateral talks with Eric Snoeck, commissioner general of the Belgian Republic. Federal Police, which addressed various security issues of common interest, and discussed other emerging security threats and risks and ways to address them from a joint and collective perspective.

Discussions between the two sides also reviewed the security challenges and threats posed by terrorist groups and organized crime networks in many regions of the world, including the Sahel and Sahara region, the Middle East and Europe.

Embodying the common desire to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of security, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance and the Commissioner General of the Belgian Federal Police Service signed a joint action plan that includes a bilateral work. program for the interim period 2025 and 2026 to strengthen cooperation in the field of combating organized crime and terrorism.
