Marruecos, contra las noticias falsas del Polisario

For the Moroccan government, the real war with the Polisario Front takes place on social networks against the disinformation campaigns which, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are carried out by the Polisario Front supported by Algeria.
In the face of the active and continuous disinformation of the 'Polisario' and 'Polisario-friendly' media, it is important to distinguish between reality and fiction. The following discussion thread sheds light on some of these false accusations", wrote the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.
In another Twitter message, the ministry said that "the blockade was not a 'civil action'. It is well known that the "Polisario" was among the provocateurs.

In a statement released Friday, the Foreign Ministry stressed that, in the face of these provocations, Morocco had decided to act "in respect of its powers, under its duties and in full compliance with international law".
The version of events since Rabat is that the Polisario and its militias entered the Guerguerat area on 21 October and committed acts of banditry, blocked the movement of people and goods and harassed MINURSO observers, the UN troops deployed in the area of Western Sahara.
These acts compromise the chances of relaunching the political process desired by the international community, the ministry insisted. It recalls that since 2016, the "Polisario" has multiplied these dangerous and intolerable acts in this buffer zone. They violate military agreements, defy the calls for order issued by the UN Secretary General and violate Security Council resolutions.

"Since 13 November 2020, Polisario militiamen have been firing harassing shots along the line of defence without causing any casualties or material damage to the ranks of the Royal Armed Forces," FAR-Morocco said on its Facebook page.
"In accordance with orders not to tolerate such provocation, the brave elements of the Royal Armed Forces responded firmly to these shots by causing the destruction of a weapons post east of the line of defence, at El Mahbes," FAR-Morocco added.
Morocco had regularly informed the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, of these events. It had also called as witnesses members of the Security Council and MINURSO, as well as several neighbouring states.

However, "the appeals of MINURSO and António Guterres, as well as the interventions of several members of the Security Council were unfortunately in vain", deplored the ministry, stressing that "Morocco has therefore decided to act, in accordance with its competences, by virtue of its duties and in full compliance with international law".
For its part, after declaring a state of war with Morocco for the "invasion" of Western Sahara, the Polisario Front said it had already caused "fatal losses" on the second day of bombing against the Moroccan army.

The bombing is taking place at the separation wall in the desert in response to the attack launched Friday by Morocco at the border post of Guerguerat, which links Mauritania to the occupied territories of the former Spanish colony of Western Sahara.
According to a statement classified as "part of war number 2", units of the Popular Army for the Liberation of the Sahara (ELPS) "attacked bases, support and supply points of the enemy, and dealt heavy blows to the Moroccan army", which suffered "fatal casualties".
The Polisario Secretary General, Ibrahim Ghali, considered Saturday that the ceasefire agreement signed with Morocco in 1991 was broken and declared the state of war throughout the territory.
