Slovakia welcomes Morocco's strategic initiatives and supports the autonomy plan for the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty

In a joint statement signed during the meeting in Rabat between Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation Nasser Bourita and his Slovak counterpart Juraj Blanár, Morocco's commitment to Africa was highlighted. Morocco's active and fundamental role at the international level and on the continent was underscored.
The Slovak minister expressed his support for Morocco's Autonomy Plan for Western Sahara, proposed by King Mohammed VI in 2007, "as the basis for achieving a definitive solution, with the support of the United Nations."
Furthermore, the two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding to create a mechanism for political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.

Juraj Blanár, Slovakia, reaffirmed his support for Morocco's interests within the European Union. He also expressed his commitment to ‘work tirelessly to promote triangular cooperation initiatives between the Visegrad Group and Morocco, for the benefit of all of Africa.’
Morocco and Slovakia also reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening their bilateral cooperation in all areas of common interest and agreed to promote regional and international collaboration to address global challenges, especially in the areas of peace and security.

At the international level, both countries welcomed their support for each other's candidacies for the UN Security Council for the period 2028-2029 and expressed ‘their willingness to coordinate to maintain international peace and security’.
At the cultural level, Morocco and Slovakia highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in the cultural and academic fields as a lever for promoting human and economic development.
Finally, with regard to the parliamentary sphere, they stressed the importance of interparliamentary contacts to intensify exchanges, particularly within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
