The Judicial Committee of the CNRI welcomes the decision of the Swedish Court of Appeal in the case of Hamid Noury

The CNRI Judicial Committee welcomes the decision of the Swedish Court of Appeal in the case of Hamid Noury and appreciates the efforts of the judges and lawyers and their stance against hostage-taking, blackmail and political pressure from the mullahs' regime. Reiterating the shortcomings and flaws of the verdict, which is the subject of a separate debate, it stresses the urgent need for Ali Khamenei, Ebrahim Raissi and other perpetrators and sponsors of the 1988 massacre, genocide and four decades of crimes against humanity to be tried before international tribunals.
The impunity of those involved in the largest massacre of political prisoners after World War II is an encouragement for the continuation of the crimes committed by this regime, not only in Iran, but throughout the region and the world.
The overwhelming evidence and testimony presented during the trial, both at first instance and on appeal, demands that the Swedish government and judiciary take legal action against Ebrahim Raissi in the continuation of the ongoing trial. More than 1,000 political prisoners tortured under the Khomeini regime are willing to testify. This legal action is not only a response to the regime's hostage-taking and blackmail, but also a preventive measure against a repetition of the Belgian government's experience in releasing a convicted terrorist diplomat. It is clear that true justice will only be done when the main perpetrators of this crime, in particular Khamenei and Raisi, are tried and punished in trials in a free Iran.
Khomeini's fatwa for the mass execution of all People's Mujahedin loyal to his position remains a yardstick for the regime's current behaviour against the PMOI and the Resistance. The execution of PMOI members and activists, terrorist operations against the Resistance outside the country and efforts to physically destroy and demonise it are part of the regime's efforts to implement this fatwa and remain at the top of its list of priorities.
Over the past four years, the Resistance's legal and political campaigns and revelations have shattered the conspiracy of the regime's Intelligence Ministry and its mercenaries against the steadfast People's Mujahedin. The Swedish court's visit to Albania to hear the testimonies of the plaintiffs and PMOI witnesses at Camp Ashraf 3, as well as the evidence and testimonies presented to the court to prove their guilt, dating back years before Noury's arrest, played a decisive role.
The decisive testimonies and strong evidence of witnesses and complainants, members and supporters of the PMOI, in particular in Camp Ashraf 3, constitute a valuable judicial body of evidence that was repeatedly cited in the prosecutors' indictments and in the court's judgment, preventing Noury and his accomplices from escaping justice. In this respect, the defence of Kenneth Lewis, WIPO's counsel, and in particular his closing arguments, played an important role.
At the request of the President of the Court of First Instance, a model of the Gohardasht prison was brought from Albania to Sweden and made available to the Stockholm Court. This model, which gives the most accurate picture of Gohardasht, includes the location of the death row, the death committee and the execution chamber. The dimensions and details of the model were examined and confirmed by dozens of witnesses at Camp Ashraf 3.
Between August 2021 and November 2023, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Resistance held 121 demonstrations, rallies, protests and press conferences in front of the courts of first instance and appeal in Stockholm, the loudest and most prominent reaction of Iranians. Many rallies and demonstrations took place in adverse weather conditions, including temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. The Ministry of Intelligence of religious fascism and its mercenaries never foresaw that the Iranian Resistance would be able to foil the regime's conspiracies and plans to its detriment. Of course, the campaign for justice will continue until the final result is achieved.
