The Permanent Political Committee of the MSP asks the European Union to encourage the peaceful solution of the Saharawi question

The Standing Political Committee of the Movement Saharawi for Peace (MSP) met to examine the latest developments in the Saharawi question and the programme of activities on the movement's agenda both internally and externally.
After evaluating the report presented by Mhamed Chej, president of the Preparatory Committee of the II Conference for Peace and Security in Western Sahara, the members of the Commission assessed positively the efforts made so far.
The highest political body of the MSP reiterated its willingness to continue its commitment to a peaceful solution to the problem on the basis of the road map and proposal presented by the MSP at the Las Palmas Conference last September. In this regard, he urged the European Union to promote the definitive settlement of the Western Sahara problem instead of getting bogged down in useless polemics on the legality or validity of the fishing agreements with the Kingdom of Morocco. It also described as "ridiculous and unfeasible" the offer made by the Polisario Front and its enthusiastic French lawyer concerning the granting of fishing licences to the Canary Islands fleet.
Finally, the CPP denounced the campaigns of repression and violence unleashed by the Polisario since last May in the Tindouf refugee camps.
