The Ahmadiyya Community will analyse the evidence of religious persecution

Ahmadiyya Community

The Ahmadiyya Community is once again raising the important issue of persecution and discrimination on the basis of religious belief and will be hosting a web seminar on 'Religious persecution in the world today' on Thursday 21 January to examine the evidence of religious persecution in the world today solely on the basis of faith.

In this online event, elements of its uniqueness will be analysed, in order to make known, in particular, the incessant persecution to which the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is subjected in countries such as Pakistan and Algeria, as well as in other Muslim nations.

The conclave's programme for Thursday 21 will be attended by Qamar Fazal, spokesman for the Ahmadiyya Community in Spain, Rafael Palomino Lozano, professor of international law, ecclesiastical law and philosophy of law at the Complutense University of Madrid, and Óscar Gómez, an independent journalist who lived through the persecution of the Ahmadis in Pakistani territory.

The web seminar will begin on Thursday 21 January with a speech by the spokesperson Qamar Fazal from 19:30 to 19:50 as part of the conference 'The persecution of the Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan and Algeria'.

It will be followed by Professor Rafael Palomino with a talk entitled 'Religious persecution: elements of its uniqueness', from 19:50 to 20:05.

The session will end with a talk by journalist Óscar Gómez, who personally experienced the persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan, from 20:05 to 20:20, followed by a session of prayers and questions between 20:20 and 20:45.

Message from the leader of the Muslim Community Ahmadia in the difficult times

The world leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, The Fifth Khalifa, H.H. Hazrat Mirza Masrur Ahmad, drew attention to the difficulties that humanity has faced in the past year and pointed out that human beings must realize that everything that happened with the latest health crisis in the COVID-19 is a warning from God to stop people from acting unjustly.

During the last New Year's sermon, Hazrat Mirza Masrur Ahmad stated that "we must pray especially that this year will be blessed for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and for humanity as a whole; that we will be able to fulfill our obligations and return, more than ever, to God the Most High, and raise our prayer levels; that the people of the world, while realizing the purpose of their creation, will fulfill the obligations due to Al'lah the Most High. So that, instead of usurping the rights of others, they may fulfill their rights in accordance with the commandments of Al'lah the Most High.

"When materialistic people do not do so, God the Most High draws their attention to these responsibilities in His own way," said the Ahmadi leader, who also noted that "it seems that most people do not want to consider the possibility that this pandemic may be a sign from Al'lah the Most High about how we should carry out our obligations and responsibilities. "They don't want to think that Al'lah the Most High might be trying to wake us up, guide us and make us aware of our duties," he said.
