"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid

De cara al mundo

"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses the latest news on the international scene on a weekly basis.

Madrid hosted the Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit, which stressed that the African continent offers many investment opportunities for Spain and Europe. Spanish and African representatives from more than 20 countries participated in Madrid in this first Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit which, organised by One Africa Forums, aims to build bridges and show the possibilities offered by the African continent. At this important event, we were able to conduct numerous interviews, which we will continue to offer over the coming weeks. In this programme we have the testimony of Jerónimo Falcón, senior manager of Proexca, a public agency of the Government of the Canary Islands, attached to the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Innovation, whose main objective is to support the internationalisation of the economy of the Canary Islands.

On the other hand, Donald Trump, former president of the United States, continues with his problems with the justice system. In view of the new charges against the former president of the United States, his lawyers have held a meeting with the special prosecutor's office to try to limit the charges against him for violation of the espionage law, obstruction of justice and falsehoods. The charges are increased to 37 for attempting to destroy evidence. Trump speaks of electoral political persecution. The trial is scheduled for 20 May next year and we will see what happens to Trump's judicial and political future. José María Peredo, Professor of Communication and International Relations at the European University, will shed light on the situation of the US tycoon and former president.

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. In the face of rumours that the Ukrainian counteroffensive had stalled, there are reports of a breakthrough in the Zaporiya area, where Russian defences may have been temporarily breached. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to win the support of African leaders by offering them free grain, after not renewing the Ukrainian grain export agreement and shelling their ports, especially Odessa. Journalist María Senovilla will explain to the microphones of "De cara al mundo" the current state of the conflict on Ukrainian territory.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will talk about the war in Ukraine, the current food crisis and the Africa-Russia summit, the coup d'état in Niger, Donald Trump's imputations, US President Joe Biden's intention that the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, should renounce China's Silk Road and the Africa Spain Cooperation Summit.

"De cara al mundo", Friday 28 July from 22:05 to 23:00.
