"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles international current affairs every week.

The Middle East continues to be a source of instability. The Western response to the challenges posed by Houthi terrorists in the vicinity of the Red Sea, causing serious damage to international trade, arrived a few hours ago. The US and UK have led a military operation against at least six Houthi targets such as missile launchers and weapons caches. The Houthis, supported, funded and armed by Iran, had launched more than twenty missiles and drones against Western ships that were intercepted. The US and UK operation has also involved Canada, Bahrain, Australia and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Israel and Hezbollah are stepping up attacks with the risk of extending the confrontation to Lebanon. Meanwhile, Israel has defended itself against South Africa's accusations at the International Criminal Court over its treatment of human rights in Gaza.

On the other hand, there is an all-out war by the Ecuadorian government against drug trafficking mafias. Hundreds of arrests have been recorded while criminals continue to control several prisons. President Noboa is trying to prevent Ecuador, this year's guest country at Fitur, from becoming a failed state in the hands of mafias and criminal gangs. In this scenario, a military deployment was carried out to regain control of the streets.

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. Russia launches new messages of intimidation against the international press by bombing a hotel in Kharkov where international media usually stay. The journalist María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will be in the microphones of "De cara al mundo" to analyze the situation.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular collaborators, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will talk about the crisis in the Middle East and the military operation of the United States and the United Kingdom against the Houthis, the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, the war in Ukraine, the rise in the polls of Donald Trump in the U.S. primaries and the elections in Taiwan.

"De cara al mundo," Friday, January 12 from 10:05pm to 11:00pm.
